We have been trying to avoid this and have repeatedly told the school that not supporting Dd3 properly would lead to school refusal!

So they have repeatedly ignored us and allowed her to fall apart!!

Nightmare! Angry [ sad]

Perhaps copy it into the SEN team as well because they will be thrilled to know their wait and see approach is paying dividends (not).

They obviously do not understand that when stressed a child with ASD can not process information. They may well have told her. That does not mean she processed the information and understood what they were saying or that it applied to her.

I hope you both have a good weekend.

Thats what I said today one that the teachers may have spoken to her but she clearly had not registered the info!

They were only interested in covering their arses though Angry

I have sent the email but yes I could forward it to the SEN team !

Dd3 is just glad to be home but another night of being unable to attend Scouts!!

Proof of postage is not proof of receipt!
You need to ask them for proof of receipt, though I seriously doubt they have any proof of postage either.

Sorry - got back on this a bit late to say that Polter's point about avoiding the term school refusal is a good one.
Sorry I overlooked it when it first appeared further up the thread...

Hi Ineed, just saw your post. So sorry about this, School refusal is so hard to manage and the days where we could just pick them up and drop them off with a very caring key-worker at pre-school, are long behind us!
Has she gone back today?

Ineedmorepatience · 02/02/2015 16:41

She has been today! And the HOY has spent some time with her.

We will see what happens next!

I think her day was ok but she wont talk about it! She told me she handed her trip money in, that was it!

Had an email from the paed offering to write to the school but still no reply from the EP who I emailed 6 days ago!! Hmm

I have emailed again this morning from my laptop because it has a tracking setting so I can see if it has been opened!!

I have requested a meeting!

I know you are right about our kids struggling but when Dd3 school refuses due to teachers not following procedures it is extremely annoying, especialy when a simole explanation and apology probably woyld have prevented it!!
