Present foe SEN officer

Hi, I was trying to find a Christmas present for my SEN officer. I thought long and hard about what she hasn't got but I can't find "seeds of integrity" in any garden centre locally. She really could do with growing some...... Anyone know where they might be sold?

Grin at the Freudian typo!

uggerthebugger · 12/12/2013 09:09

How about a spa day? My local one does an invigorating back rub with a rolled-up copy of the 2001 SEN Code of Practice...

OneInEight · 12/12/2013 09:26

Some carrot seeds as with the amount of caring carrots they give they are at risk of running out.

Xmas Wink A Specsavers voucher so she can read agreed statement provision

Xmas Wink Literacy tuition to improve understanding of agreed statement provision

inappropriatelyemployed · 12/12/2013 11:43

Xmas Smile Bit topical this but what about a copy of Nelson Mandela's 'The Struggle is My Life', will doubtless hold deep resonance.

senmerrygoround · 12/12/2013 12:44

A Top 10 list would make a perfect seasonal blog piece Xmas Smile

senmerrygoround · 12/12/2013 12:45

a handheartwarmer

A knife for backstabbing?

A book: SMART targets for Dummies

A new job, an eclectic one, where you can never actually tell her what she is supposed to do, what her hours are or how much she'll get paid. All will be delivered on your whim aka professional opinion of what she needs.

inappropriatelyemployed · 12/12/2013 14:48

Ho-ho-ho Gloria!

Very apt attempt at seasonal cheer given the shit I am dealing with right at this very moment with my LA - unbelievable developments today. Absolutely incredible.

GloriaTheHighlyFavouredLady · 12/12/2013 14:56

So sorry IE. Sadly I can well imagine the range of possibilities.

Don't waste your time on the BS. You have more important things to do it seems.

inappropriatelyemployed · 12/12/2013 15:01

It's one way of venting steam at the impotence!

TOWIELA · 12/12/2013 15:10

IE - I really don't know how you're keeping your calm with BS. I've been reading and started to respond a few times but mine seem to become a total and utter raving rant at his arrogance so haven't sent. A total a*hole!

Hope you get the LA sorted

GloriaTheHighlyFavouredLady · 12/12/2013 16:28

I think in the run up to Christmas we should have a thread to hash out the job description of a SEN Case Officer.

I've also thought of Christmas party games@

'Pass the Buck'
(self explanatory)

'Guess Who?'
(also self explanatory)

'Balderdash'
(er, also SE)

'TAC Bingo'

'Round and Round the Meeting, like a Teddy Bear'

'This little SEN Child went to Market, This little SEN Child stayed at home, This little SEN child had SALT cheap, and this little SEN child had NONE, and this little SEN child cried wee, wee, wee, wee all the way to the adult social care budget!'

'Vexation'

'Monopoly'

'Downfall'

'Pop-up Pirate'

'Bluff'

'

senmerrygoround · 12/12/2013 16:38

You're too good at this Xmas Smile Will have to get my thinking cap on (anything to distract myself from the LGO form)

senmerrygoround · 12/12/2013 17:01

'What's missing" (appendices from statements, provision amended following agreed draft etc)

2boysnamedR · 12/12/2013 17:03

Lol so funny. How about a red letter day experience but where they have to spend two luxury weeks parenting a child who can't learn, who's school say 'oh he's not doing very well at all', then in the next breath 'there's nothing wrong with him' and then battling through that list of learning diffulties with no input what so ever the school tell you about.

GloriaTheHighlyFavouredLady · 12/12/2013 19:40

Am I the only one thinking there is an E missing from LGO, given that it is a fictional land and all?

JJXM · 12/12/2013 20:16

A conscience?

2tirednot2fight · 12/12/2013 20:22

Lol thanks for the suggestions but on reflection I think I will give back to the SEN lady just what she has given us..........strife, headaches and a continual need to seek legal advice!

I am loving the poem though I think that I will print that off to smile at when the lovely LA folks grind me down!

Ofsted have recently inspected my child's previous school, they were found to have discriminated against him on three counts....... The judge ordered the school to send Ofsted the judgement and the inspection report.......... talks about how the school are so inclusive and how they work to reduce inequality. Think it's more than an E that Ofsted are missing!!

OP posts:
abigkerfuffle · 12/12/2013 20:41

2tired - are Ofsted interested in schools that discriminate? I can trump your 3 counts with 4! Did you get an apology? I'm still waiting.......

abigkerfuffle · 12/12/2013 20:44

IE oh no, what's going on now? Sad

2tirednot2fight · 12/12/2013 20:47

Yes, it was ordered by the judge but the school and LA made it so clear they weren't going to meet his needs that we had to move him. Our choice of LA maintained school refused him a place for the next academic year, EQA claim number 2 being lodged this weekend!

Our apology has been ordered but I'm not sure if they'll comply Sad. I then have to go to Michael Gove apparently.

2tirednot2fight · 12/12/2013 20:54

I met with Gove but nothing has really changed sadly the continued battles just get nastier!
