well done - that's brilliant news

moondog · 27/04/2013 14:08

Hearty congratulations.
It's utterly unacceptable that families have to undergo these stresses.

Bloody hell Claw GrinGrinGrin
I name change a lot but a couple of years ago or so you really helped me out and your good advice enabled me to get my ds a sm.
Since then, I've always felt a bit bad that you helped me win a sm but had to fight so much for your ds and I'm so, so pleased for you now.
O.k, the statement needs some work, but it's a big turnaround by them. Hope your ds will soon be in the right place and getting the support he deserves. All the best.

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 27/04/2013 15:06

Well Done!!!

sweetteamum · 27/04/2013 15:25

I am so very pleased for you claw. And at least they're approaching the indi school. Wow! You have done a completely amazing job and should be so proud. The statement is nothing that can't be worked on :)

Enjoy your celebration.

StarlightMcKenzie · 27/04/2013 15:46

Just seen this. Wow!!

'Having had a quick glance, the statement is the biggest pile of crap i have ever seen, BUT its a statement just the same and step forward!!'

^ This had me laughing through my tears!

Thank God and bless you and your DS.

Galena · 27/04/2013 17:45

Fab! Well done!

Oh, claw! How wonderful. At last some good news. Grin Grin

AgnesDiPesto · 27/04/2013 18:37

That's the best news ever. I am gob smacked. Was convinced after your recent posts it was going to be a refusal. Obviously you want a good statement but the truth is of you get indi SS you can probably get away with being less precious about the wording and sort that out further down the line.

StarlightMcKenzie · 27/04/2013 18:40

The point is you have something concrete to argue with now instead of abstract mythical half-truths.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 27/04/2013 20:31

Fabaroo news indeed re the statement.

Do tackle them hard re parts 2 and 3 of this document; as you well know woolly minded provision is worse than useless as well as being unlawful. Specified and quantified are your watchwords here.

StarlightMcKenzie · 27/04/2013 20:45

Honestly Claw We're all falling off of our chairs I think.

I wonder what caused this? Was it the EP telling them to feck off? I hope so.

inappropriatelyemployed · 27/04/2013 20:50

I reckon it was the EP thing which swung. The last ditch dirty move of a desperate LA.

Bastards! Claw, I will definitely need your story for our research project if it comes to fruition. No one would believe it if they hadn't lived through it.

claw2 · 28/04/2013 14:59

The EP hasnt even replied to their letter yet! Its clear from the statement, why they asked the EP to withdraw his report, they havent used his report at all in the statement.

Their decision wasnt even due yet, they have given it early.

I wrote to the LA last week telling them that ds had a place at indi school and could start as soon as they provided funding. Im in total shock they have stated they will approach the school!

OP posts:
StarlightMcKenzie · 28/04/2013 15:05

Sounds like you have given them a 'way out' as they were increasingly finding themselves backed into a corner.

The most agressive fighting comes just before giving in imo.

inappropriatelyemployed · 28/04/2013 15:38

Sorry, thought you'd said EP had written to them.

Hope they name the school. Is the statement in draft form at the moment or final? What does it say in Pt 4?

theDudesmummy · 28/04/2013 15:42

That sounds pretty good, well done. We have a statement with no school named and the LA had refused to even make a referral to the (non-maintained) special school we wanted. We went ahead and made the referral ourselves and he has just this week been accepted by the school, now it will be the uphill struggle (and probably Tribunal) to get the LA to agree the school.

StarlightMcKenzie · 28/04/2013 15:47

The EP said 'I'll speak to claw and get back'. That's the same thing as saying feck off as they must know by now that Claw is hardly going to agree to a report withdrawal.

Think the EP also said 'parental views are parental views you fuckwits' to them. Is that right claw?
