We got an early appointment and dd is now being referred to the eating disorders clinic so thank god that is now in motion as she is losing a 1lb a day now.

Now on top of this her scan revealed what they think is a pineal cyst in the centre of her brain. Scan has been sent away and she now needs another contrast mri and possible lumbar puncture. To see just how big it is and of course if its benign or not as the case may be.

They said it wasnt the reason for her stroke like symptoms that occured the other week. However she is suffering double vision, dizzy and lightheaded and bad headaches to boot and the numbness in her arm and hands still so I am not so sure....

Heart wise no result reading as yet but I think that really is to do with the fact she is starving herself.

I am scared shitless for her right now. :(

No helpful advice but as you well know the wait is the worst bit. We are used to dealing and fixing we hate not knowing best way forward. Thinking of you x

StarlightMcKenzie · 22/08/2012 23:23

Oh coff, how scary for you and her! I hope they get to the bottom of her problems quickly and get a plan in place that makes it all much less scary!

coff33pot · 22/08/2012 23:26

Thanks all x

Yes lisad the dealing and the fixing I am definately used to and that is why at the moment I am totally out of sync with all this because I cant form a plan of action or can fix.

Its the way I deal with things when the children are sick DH is the soppy clean up sick person and I am the "right this is what it is and this is what we are going to do and arrange the sick bay, cold flannels and meds etc.

Now its wait for more dates and the last thing she needs is any waiting due to her state of mind at the mo.

I think the eating is a mixture of things tbh ouryve because as a teen she had 5 ulcers and a hiatus hernia due to stress and bullying. Acid reflux gave her the advice not to eat this or that, then over the years shes been told fat content is causing her pancreas not to function correctly so to avoid that or keep it low.

Plus being an anxious girl at the best of times and recent traumatic events the way I see it and so does she is that she had the ultimate excuse NOT to eat all these things iyswim so it wasnt hard to talk herself out of eating and now with this need to be in control of her life someway as she has lost herself due to trauma, the need to protect herself and to be in control of everything she is doing has led to PTSD and of course anorexia/bullima can come hand in hand with it on occasion.

She refused to allow prescript for the nutri drinks and I said I would buy some online but she quite honestly said that it would cause her more anxiety because she is not in control of her body. She tried to explain that yes it hurts like hell to eat but at the same time she can stuff herself with food despite that if she wants to the same way as she can starve herself too because it is her choice :( its hard for me to understand or swallow but at least she is opening up to me so that is a start.
