DS starts his SS tomorrow. It's a very Special SS chosen SO carefully and a result of visiting probably every SS that exists in London.

It's a large-ish school with opportunities and we are splitting the family unit for a while for him to attend without delay. It was a battle to get him into this school as they have high expectations for achievement and behaviour and I know that had he not had the ABA his chances of attending now would be zero.

BUT, I'm sad to be leaving such an amazing period of our lives filled with progress and hope and frankly gutted that it couldn't have been accommodated in mainstream as it would have worked, especially for someone like ds.

The truth is though that our LA isn't ready for ds, or us or for anything that might challenge the status quo and god knows I've tried everything.

So the next chapter begins.......

Hi Starlight.
I wondered how did your DS do on first day? Any comments form DS? We are in the process of going to tribunal with our LEA and as it gets closer I am on the edge. Only thought tha gets me going it's that we have to fight for our kids as they can not do it for themselves. I was even thinking of taking my DS to the hearing so Tribunal can meet him, but don't know if it is a good idea.
Hope all ok with you.

tryingtokeepintune · 28/02/2012 13:43

Wonderful news. Did ds say anything about it?

auntevil · 28/02/2012 14:49

Smile Excellent news - you might get a little more time to relax a little iflittle star is in for more time. Either that or more time to work on the tribunal Grin

I'm going to go all shy and coy now - I've been a fairly regular lurker here since I went quiet during the whole Statementing process but want to say once again thank you so much for all the amazing advice you gave me over a year ago which you probably won't even remember.

am super glad you've ended up where I've ended up. its a good good place

(waves to PipinJo - thanks again for the perfect PM to wake up to after my totally rough day on Wednesday. It really helped)
