If so, how are you all doing?

Life at chez sign is doing ok, huge amounts of PGCE homework Sad and the OU year is gearing up, so lots of student stuff too.

Am feeling really snowed under, but, ds has been doing well at school this week and has sucessfully been in assembly (yay!) Grin. We are off to the cafe at the church (lovely, quiet, run by volunteers) tomorrow with a little friend from school and his mum, (ds has a friend, Grin Grin) ).

imogen - did they decline in writing and give a specific reason why? If not, I'd demand they put it in writing with a specific reason for the delay.

We just finished a lovely lamb madras (takeaway but delivered Grin). A delayed anniversary meal. Yummmm!!! Now a bit of wine and I'm happy.

SparkleRainbow · 06/01/2012 20:08

I could join you in it will be different this year stuff, I too have a "big" birthday this month.....think losing the necessary weight might actually turn out to be the easy bit in the list!!! Wink

This week, back to school, good on the whole for them, and probably me although whole getting them ready is so stressful feelis like I have done a whole day by 9.00am Ds is bed crying with pain, but he can a great day at school writing a whole page of handwriting, despite needing medical attention to be able to complete it, he wanted to finish it, which is a huge achievment in itself. Am off to have an over emotional cry into a Wine about it all.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 06/01/2012 20:17

I have gin for anyone who needs a medicinal tipple Smile I'll also join the 'lot of weight to lose' contingent!

peaceflower, how did her day go, looking forward to monday?

wilson, yay fab news, I like you Grin

happy birthday to those with up coming birthdays Smile

Becaroooo · 06/01/2012 20:27

moose I had a bad reaction to an LP a few years ago (you have ME too, right?) and it did take about 6 weeks for me to feel "normal" again...make sure you have good pain meds and lie flat as much as you can. So sorry you are suffering...at one point I was crawling round on my hands and knees as I couldnt stand Sad

I am 40 this year (eek) and thats why I am retraining, losing weight and making sure ds1 gets the help he needs.

Onwards and upwards ladies!

AtYourCervix · 06/01/2012 20:28

according to the scales i have lost 4 pounds between monday and friday Hmm i don't really believe it but 4 pounds down 6 stone to go......

Peaceflower · 06/01/2012 20:32

Ninjagoose dd's day seemed to go ok, but on her return home she said she didn't want to go to school again, ate her tea and promptly fell asleep Sad.

I think I'm headed to bed too, even though it's only early. Hope for a good night.

WilsonFrickett · 06/01/2012 20:48

I won't be far behind you peace. I'm self medicating with too much wine and junk food this week, would normally be fine birth on top of Christmas and stuff. Need to knock it on the head early tonight and get some proper sleep in before the move. (in defence NO takeaways in new village so am saying goodbye to my bad ways once and for all Grin)

lisad123 · 06/01/2012 20:56

flower hope it gets easier getting dd to school

imogen I cant believe how crap your school has been.

Hello to everyone

We have had a mixed week. DD2 has been pretty good week at school, still a little "flappy" so know shes stressed.
She is POTTYTRAINED!! took the whole of xmas holidays but shes doing very well Grin

DD1 has had a bad week, meltdowns daily since Monday, and an emotional wreak. Been chasing Pead for referal to CAMHS which she was meant to do in OCT! she finally sent it on 23rd Dec Hmm but CAMHS havent recieved it Angry
Her inserts have broken but again because of delays in referals she wont be seen till Feb and thats only for the mould to be done. She is having nightly pain which means we arent getting much sleep.

I started a diet this week for first time ever, and taken up Zumba and swimming too. I have also started the flylady thing about keeping ontop of house work Shock

DD2 has appointment with Wheelchair clinic on MOnday!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/01/2012 20:59

Main reason why I couldn't do village life again, no Indian takeaway!

Re: Flirting, are you offering? Grin I'm well and truly off men at the moment! Wink Actually, perhaps I'm off relationships, full stop.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/01/2012 21:01

Evening, Lisad. Well done on the potty training. So glad I don't have to do that again, even if DS2 is still a bit flaky.

signandsmile · 06/01/2012 21:20

Lisad that's really kind Grin thanks. I teach on the SW degree, (for the OU), but am not practicing as a SW at the moment, (tho I kept my GSCC registration, as you never now when you might need it Grin) but if you have any thing useful for the PGCE, I would be very interested... Grin unpa1d is doing the same course. I have been buying books this wk, and feel like a proper student Grin.

Ineedalife · 06/01/2012 21:32

Hi all, sorry not keeping up tonight. I have had a headache on and off for most of the week, so not too much reading for me.

Anyway am off to bed in a minute but just wanted to pop in and say hi.Smile.

lisad123 · 06/01/2012 21:48

Lol sign sounds like you don't need me. I spent 6 years working for SS but sounds like you know more than me if your teaching it too Blush

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 06/01/2012 22:03

peace, hope she gets a chance to relax and feels more like school by monday.

lisa, I'd love to give zumba a go but I am way to uncoordinated!

ellen, I'm going off dh fast this evening, it seems I need more 80s cheesy music in my life, you've got to draw the line at milli vanilli surely, they didn't even do the singing themselves Grin

sign, how long is the course? Haven't seen unpaid for while.

LollipopViolet · 06/01/2012 22:32

Auntevil, have you ever been in a little plane then? I did laugh at "huge faceless holiday plane" because my daft mind then imagined a big 747 with all the MN smilies painted on it, thus, no longer faceless! :)

Hmmm, MN Airways, there's an idea...

intothewest · 06/01/2012 22:44

Just popped back in
TRIGGLES glad things are going better;hope it carries on. Why has it taken so long for the counselling to happen ?

lisad123 · 07/01/2012 08:59

Ninja its great fun and a laugh, you don't need to be good dancer, trust me!
I think my pead is playing a sneaky game Hmm everytime I have emailed her about dd1 and the fact we have been waiting since aug for someone to help with her mh issues, a letter suddenly drops on my doorstep, with referral ect. Today's is dated 30th of Nov HmmHmm
Funny how camhs team still haven't received it Angry

signandsmile · 07/01/2012 09:07

Morning all, gorgeous lovely dh gave me a lie in! Grin Grin

ninja its two years, and we are 1 term in..... (long haul emoticon)

lisa day we stop learning is the day we should stop working... so all input always welcome, from all sourcesGrin (I always find I end up learning from my students) .

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 07/01/2012 09:29

sign, how lovely, my dh is currently getting the lie in, ds2 got up at 6.30 [yawn] Dd1 must qualify at the same time as you then, she's in her second year of her degree and feels like the end is in sight now Grin She was saying it's this time next year she has to start applying for teaching jobs.

enjoy your weekend crazygal, sounds fab Smile

moosemama · 07/01/2012 12:14

Morning,

Just wanted to update as last night I said we hadn't heard re SA.

Had a letter this morning to say they are going ahead with the SA. I am so relieved I don't have to reapply, as I really put everything I had into my first submission. In fact they don't want anything else from us (probably because my first one was a tad OTT Blush) but they do want ds1 to do one.

Deadline for letting us know whether or not he'll be getting a statement is 26 March.

The only thing is, when I found out they usually ask for a second submission of Parental Evidence for the actual SA I pulled some of the extra points and evidence from my first submission to make it less intimidating. (It was humungous. Blush. Do you think they will still take them off me if I offer to send it all in? Its mainly evidence I decided not to include because I already had 11 appendices and felt they would think it was too much. So, samples of schoolwork and handwriting, pictures he drew in response to his feelings about home and school, etc, all things the school hasn't got copies of. in fact I have all his old exercise books maths and spelling tests at home, so the school have little in the way of evidence other than their records from the past 12 months. (Prior to that they discovered his SEN records were missing, but have managed to pull some things together from other people's records around the school. Hmm)

coff33pot · 07/01/2012 12:26

Hi moose! Thats good news that they are going to assess Smile

The school applied for mine then the LA wrote to me with a request for my input. When I got the letter saying they were going to assess they supplied me with a folder to store any info/reports I get and also said forward on any additional information you receive in the meantime that you feel will help the assessment. So I think you will find they will accept any additional info you have :)

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 07/01/2012 12:27

great news moose Smile
