And no Christmas is not covered

creatovator · 09/12/2011 19:20

Ineed we haven't got to the stage of pressies for friends yet [phew!]. Most of our online stuff has come by van. Some of these are rented vans so I reckon I'm providing much needed work for folk in the run up to Christmas. It also means I'm not using my car for trips to the shops when the vans would be out anyway. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it Xmas Grin

madwoman What a week!

DS is back now, normal has been restored and we are definatly assured a manic weekend of silly noises. With DD joining in for good measure with her 'thing' about her ankles (I don't know if this is real or attention seeking) and her selective hearing (she's just said she can hear her friends easily and her teacher, its just us she can't hear!) I think we're having a normal weekend! Calm is never for long.

I did get some christmas presents wrapped today. Not many and they're being unwrapped tomorrow so were urgent. But I'm looking forward to ds getting his (these are from grandad but I had to buy them). He's getting a happy hopperz so that will hopefully help with OT and his bouncing that he's not happy to do on the trampoline outside in the rain cos he can bounce on it to his hearts delight in front of the tv. In fact putting it like that I wonder why I didn't buy something like that before Xmas Grin.

creatovator · 09/12/2011 19:22

coff33pot There's still plenty of time... Have some Wine. You'll have it covered in no time Xmas Smile

beingarebel · 09/12/2011 19:24

creatovator I did all our Christmas shopping online. Not hit the shops once. Was a doddle and I intend to always shop this way from now on.

creatovator · 09/12/2011 19:29

beingarebel Haven't managed to do it all online. I find I need to look at some things and get ideas for the silly little fun things. However, I reckon I'll be doing more online in future. It works as long as the snow doesn't stop play!!

Ineedchristmascake · 09/12/2011 19:35

We don't spend a lot on school friends creatovator and I didn't do it at all with Dd1 but Dd2 is so close to her friends that they all started buying for each other in primary and have continued all the way through secondary. Dd3 just does it because Dd2 does tbh.

This is the second year we have christmas shopped online, I absolutly hate taking Dd3 and since I have been working most days and DP works weekends there just isn't an option for us.

I suppose I could just make Dd3 behave while we walk round a hundred shops with a million other peopleHmm[That was suggested to me once by a stupid helpful relative].

madwomanintheattic · 09/12/2011 19:38

oh golly, sorry, didn't mean to stress everyone!

online. mm. i think that's my plan for christmas...

Evenin' all

Mixed week here. Ds2 was discharged from the paediatric opthamology department at the hospital, which is he's been under since he was 3 (he's nearly 8 now). So that was a high point.

Ds1 had his first appointment in the asthma clinic, for them to tell us that they can't assess him until the new year because his chest still hasn't fully recovered from his chest infection.

Both sisters have had seriously bad news and are in need of support and Mum is going to pieces worrying about both of them, whilst also imagining all sorts of horrible scenarios about my neuro appointment.

Discovered the LA has changed the form since I started putting my evidence for SA together, so am having to rejig, retype and generally muck about with it, just when I thought it was finally finished. Hmm

I have spent half the evening upside down under the sink dismantling the plumbing. Cleaned it all out, reassembled it and discovered it still didn't drain. Hmm Dh came home, repeated what I'd already done (Angry because of course a woman couldn't possibly have done it right Hmm) then came to the same conclusion as I did, that its the exit pipe that's blocked and it needs dismantling from outside. Also, when he put the under-sink pipes back together they leaked like a sieve - unlike when I did it and they didn't leak at all! Hmm Aaargh!

This of course happened after I spent the whole day giving the kitchen a thorough spring/christmas clean, including cleaning out all the cupboards. I can hear the gremlins rolling around laughing at me from here. Hmm

So, the dcs are about to have a very late tin of soup for their tea, while I hide in here and MN, as the kitchen is now an unhygienic disaster area.

But hey, I am only half a pound of hitting my Christmas weight target, the Christmas tree is up and twinkling in the corner and we have absolutely no plans for the weekend. So its not all doom and gloom. Grin

Odd week.
Had meeting with EP this week, which was terrible, and again I ended up in tears Blush
And dd2 woke this morning with a rash that didn't disappear under glass Sad spent 2 hours at GP, and still not much the wiser, other than possible infection so now feeding her antibiotics!
Meant to be going to centre parcs on Monday, just hope she's well enough.

Dh had day off and because I spent so long at GP I didn't get to town and dh said he wanted to come too! Disaster! I remember now why I never go shopping with the girls.
I did however get a wonderful new calendar with six sections, a to do list at the side, a week by week page and a clear cover so you can put regular events on weekly! (sad I know!)

lisad123 · 09/12/2011 19:56

Do you have date for nero yet moose?

madwomanintheattic · 09/12/2011 19:57

intothewest · 09/12/2011 20:06

I'm too slow to reply to you all,but I have read !

.......can you all keep the noise down please, DS is ASLEEP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gave melatonin at 6.05 (as paed says it takes about an hour) bathwater stayed mainly in the bath and by the time I'd finished his story in bed he was virtually asleep...by 7.05 Grin

Let's hope it's not a fluke

I've made some Christmas stuff, but haven't got any 'proper' pressies yet

FickleFreckle · 09/12/2011 20:08

....crawls in quietly and waves feebly...been coping with CFS symptoms so haven't been around for a while...but am feeling a bit stronger now and trying to tackle the unimaginable chaos that is my neglected housework. How does it get like this? HOW??

lisad123 · 09/12/2011 20:11

madwomanintheattic · 09/12/2011 20:15

i'm going to get one, i think... we've got appts racking up for jan, and i'm starting to panic about missing them. clearly that's not helping with the overall air of calm.

i love a new calendar. feels so full of possibilities!

signandsingcarols · 09/12/2011 20:21

into thats fab, Xmas Grin hope it continues...

christmas decs go up here tom... have started the merry go round of glue and glitter for the family cards. Xmas Grin.

oh, forgot to say... ds has noticed, Shock and been excited by, Shock Shockthe cards he has been geting from his classmates Xmas Grin fab!

moosemama · 09/12/2011 20:21

Its next Wednesday Lisa (14th).

I am very Xmas Envy of your calendar. I used to like having a nice orderly calendar on the wall, but have to use a large family diary these days, as for some bizarre reason, one of our dogs decided that the purpose of a calendar was to be pulled off the wall and chased around the kitchen on a regular basis. Hmm Seriously tempted to buy that one and find somewhere else to hang it now though. Grin

Into, sounds promising - my lot are all still careering round the house in various states of hysteria and I'm still hiding in here while dh deals with them. Wink

Fickle, sorry to hear you've been suffering from CFS symptoms - I was exactly the same this time last year and its just horrible. I defnitely find taking vitamin D3 and high strength omega 3 really helps with my symptoms, if that helps at all.

creatovator · 09/12/2011 20:22

Moose Well done on the Christmas weight target.

Imogen Sorry you had such a tough week.

Lisa Hope DD2 gets better soon.

Into Yippee

Fickle Glad you're feeling a bit better.

moosemama · 09/12/2011 20:24

Aw sign, how lovely your ds getting excited by all the cards from his classmates. Smile

Ours aren't allowed to send them until next week (school rule), but ds1 is always wholeheartedly unimpressed anyway and only agrees to write a maximum of six himself - none of which can be to girls. Grin

moosemama · 09/12/2011 20:26

Why thank you creatovator. Grin

I was wondering why I couldn't seem to keep my jeans up this week and for some reason convinced myself they must have stretched rather than considering the alternative option - being that they are actually too big for me now. Grin

creatovator · 09/12/2011 20:26

Fickle I had similar stuff and agree that it's awful. Magnesium and Zinc helped me. I've also been taking acidopholus (spelling?) Manganese and Vit C.

creatovator · 09/12/2011 20:27

Moose Brilliant reason for some new outfits then. Not that I'm jealous or anything Xmas Envy
