As some of you know, ds aged 5 has mild left hemi and wears an afo. He's been dry in the day for a year now, tho wears nappies at night. In the past 6 wks he is getting 'poo leakage'in the day. He is getting VERY upset and says it 'just comes out and i can't feel it' Any advice anyone? Our paed is pretty useless, anyone know a good one we can see privately anywhere? I'm gutted about it to be honest. Thanks girls xx

Take care of yourself - I'm here anytime if you want a coffee and to talk about inane pointless things like Madonnas muscle definition if you just want to take your mind off things!

Thinking of you, keep being strong

My Ds has the same problem MABS, we are going for a x-ray of his bowels soon. He also has CP. We were told that it could be related to the CP, and he might have lessen sensantion (sp?) in his bowel area due to the CP>.

ntt · 19/03/2006 11:04

:):) Sounds like your DS and my DS have the same problem, hope that my son's xray goes ok now :)

MABS · 20/03/2006 18:24

when is the xray Sparkly? We have been referred to a surgeon next Friday, but coward that i am, i couldn't face asking why!

OP posts:
sparklymieow · 20/03/2006 18:26

haven't had an appointment yet, we discussed with the consulant and then recieved a letter a few weeks back saying that they are going to do a x-ray sooner rather than later.
Do you have any idea what the surgeon wants?

MABS · 20/03/2006 18:31

not a bloody clue !! ridiculous eh, but I couldn't bring myself to ask. I just feel this has to be connected with the cp, but they say its very rare for him to be dry for nearly 2 yrs, then have bowel problems. What have they said to you? x

OP posts:
sparklymieow · 20/03/2006 18:34

Ds is 8 now, he has never been completely clean re: his bowels, but its getting embarrassing for him now, and we just thought he was being lazy. [bad mummy] They said it might be connected to the CP, and he has lessen sentation in his bowels.

desperatehousewife · 20/03/2006 18:47

Mabs, I'm so SO pleased for you and for Eliot. Fingers crossed with the surgeon.

Good luck sparkly too.
xx

MABS · 20/03/2006 18:49

I too thought ds was being lazy and told him off repeatedly, he was 5 in October. Now I know it's beyond his control. Have they done an mri for your ds?
