Hi all, how has the week been?

We've been at the seaside, Grin ds has loved the caravan, and we had a friend and her 3 kids for a couple of days too, which he coped with really well, weather amazing! picnic on beach with no coats on, much paddling in sea and digging big holes. Grin.

second week of half term still to come, (visit to stay at nanny's and his first party with kids from school, I am thrilled he got an invite but really anxious about how he will do... (over anxious mummy...)

feel like i have this huge looming pile of 'things that must be done', about to topple over on me. my 'to do' list never seems to get any shorter... Hmm but next half term he gets to be full time, so hopefully more time to get stuff done.... altho I could be kidding myself, Grin

I know it is not friday i just wanted to say a big HELLLOOOOOO and thank you to signandsmile. My family and I met you while on our hols last week and you said that I could find you here. I am Lisa mum of George and John.
xx
Hello to you all I am Lisa and proud mum of twin boys George and john. John has recently been diagnosed ASD and that is about all I know. He has 2 sessions 1 on 1 at playschool and a portage worker visit once a week.

I have been diagnosed with depression. After a fun week on hols back home half term and hubby at work long hours again I feel horrible and almost resentful that he can escape to work. I get 1 day a week away (at work) and am not functioning today.

Sorry for the downer but very pleased to find you all xxx

Welcome lisa - and i think most of us can relate to feeling an element of resentfulness of 'escapees' from what in this house is usually chaos Grin
why not start a hello thread saying you're new, just in case someone skims over the friday night thread?
Brew of Wine for the not functioning today.

Hello and welcome Lisa, I will pop across to your other thread in a minute. Smile

madwomanintheattic · 26/10/2011 16:29

Blush i had tinternet ishoos as we were reno-ing the basement and knocked out the wi-fi and my threads i'm on! i still haven't got batteries though, but will try and find you and see how you are doing !

i can put my sn friday night post now though Grin which might give you an idea of why my head is fried! Grin long story short, i think we're going to pull ds1 out of school and he/ unschool for (at least) a bit. we went for his (well, actually all 3 kids) parent/ teacher interview on fri, and were supposed to be there for 15 mins. we were there for an hour and 15 minutes, which included the teacher bursting into tears... she is so lovely, but like every other teacher he has ever had, recognised pretty much immediately that he's a square peg in a round hole. she has some ideas (moving up to g6 for some or all) and 'persistence', but tbh, i'm not entirely convinced it's fixable, and wonder if we're doing more damage by insisting he conforms all the time. so mostly i've been drinking tea and fussing, when i should have been running it off.

but on a brighter note, they are going to re-do dd2's coding and put her back up to 'severe' for access to therapy, (they took advice from the outreach team who said 'duh', effectively) and she started using her netbook in class yesterday. yay!

right, have a meeting to go to, but will try and find t'other thread when i get back. (are you super skinny?)

moosemama · 26/10/2011 16:48

Grin Ok I'll let you off .... this time! Grin

Just popped over there myself actually as it had dropped off my thread too. Blush Lambskin popped in on Monday but we both missed her.

Nope, I'm not super skinny - totally plateaued (sp?) this week and not going to make my target on Friday. Harrumph!

Sorry things are so hard with ds at the moment. Its so hard to know what to do about school, especially when things just aren't working. We've nearly pulled ds1 out several times, but thiings seem to be on the up school-wise for ds1 at the moment. I know it won't stay that way for long, but am trying to enjoy the breathing space while I can.

Good to hear things are getting sorted for dd2 though.

Its such a rollercoaster this schooling lark isn't it.

Am wondering if a kickboxing dvd might be a good idea for you at the moment - then you can really punch out the stress. I'm loving the kickboxing circuits on my new dvd.

madwomanintheattic · 26/10/2011 19:30

oo, oo, i've got that kickboxery workout thingy on one of the davina's! good thinking! and it's only 20 minutes iirc!

moosemama · 26/10/2011 19:32

There you go then. Stress relief and weightloss/fitness all in one lovely 20 minute package! Grin
