So what are we doing/fighting for this week?

I'll start, we have SALT group today which I hate as DD2 never sits still Confused and fighting for OT referal :(

I'm trying to find a private dietician who will help me to get my tube fed son off the formula tube feed and onto liquidised real food via his tube :) x

this week it's an assessment from sense that we are after, trying to find out if the LEA have coughed up for it yet.

I'm sure it's no consolation but when ds1 had a 6 week block of salt a few years back, he didn't utter one sound the entire time or get off my knee [sigh]

I am trying to find out why our SALT has decided she is too important to attend our meetings - failing that I will be trying to find a private one :(

General ongoing battle about the ineptitude of ds's SN school(Iwon't start as it could be a 10 page rant);and a friend has asked me to come to a meeting at her ds's(AS) MS school as support- be a change of scenery- good luck to you all

I'm fighting for school travel expences (money towards petrol) as i am driving both dd's to school and its costing me £50 a week, we moved house a few months ago but i feel the dd's are better off staying where they are (school) but i just need to prove it Grin.

Also fighting for Mobility for dd2 as her DLA is up for renual.

Oh, and still the battle to make sure dd2 gets her 30hrs support as stated on her statement.

chocoholic ring the DLA peeps up and get the form sent out, you have a few weeks to do it and then they will backdate from the date you called them for a form.

One of the schools for DD is full. :(

Yes choc ring, we just got ours backdated and carers allowance backdated too. Then start a DLA thread so we can help filling it in...took me two weeks, with help from MN/cerebra guide to dla. :)

Preparing application to SENDIST to appeal Part 4 in DS's statement.

They have refused our requested SS, apparently because changing schools a year ago (MS) did not solve the problems, so they feel another change won't make any difference. In the meantime he is not in school at all.

I am waiting, not patiently, for response from LEA to my letter wanting statement changed to include all the important stuff missing from proposed and hopefully increased hours of support for DS. Think it not going to go our way but still hoping, I am having nightmares about the thought of going to tribunal.

Going to try and pack some presents whilst constanly checking my emails!

I have dd's proposed amended statement to re write, her DLA renewal to fill in, the OT referral to chase up.Then for ds I have to prepare for his transition review and take him for passport photos for his blue badge (possibly the worst lob of the lot)

Am fighting to get ds into asd friendly very full up school... And to get current school to support him socially and emotionally in the mean time.. Still waiting to see if lea will do SA..

Fighting ds to get dressed in to school uniform ( that was interesting)..

And hanging about for Xmas deliveries to arrive whilst painting the house!

( doh.. Just realised what the uniform thing might be about.. The house is a bit smelly still!)

oh and the dog.. Who has decided it was a good idea to nibble my post this morning ( she never does this.. Again .. House is smelly).. And it was a pead appointment letter! Grrrrr

oh and school.. Who have decided that full and complete education records consist of a few pages of rubbish.
barrng that .. Not a lot.

Hopefully no fighting this week.
Ds has dentist. He is very orally defensive and we struggle with brushing teeth so he is on frequent visits. He doesn't mind going to see her and she is great with him.
Have to start xmas shopping. Argh.

asdx2 check with your council, but most allow a home photo to be used for a blue badge just so long as it's the right size and a fairly uncluttered background. You should be able to avoid the whole photo booth thing.

hope the salt group went ok.
we have a salt apt tomo. 1:1. don't get many. salt said shee is starting a salt group jan with children with similar language problems as ds although she did tell me the others are nowhere near as active as ds so more stress to look forward to! oh joy!
today i looked at a communication and interaction unit for ds in sep. loved it and cant imagine sending ds anywhere else. howeever dont want to get hopes up as am sure lea wont be keen to send him as it's expensive and ds will require a taxi each way!
tomo i'm going to visit local primary school. if ds was nt i'd love him to go to but alas he isnt.
hope every one does well in apts and battles too this week!

I am waiting for a decision re: reconsideration of the start date for DD1's HRM for DLA. Just praying that they don't reduce her to LRM instead.

I have had DD1 home today because her SS have a 'Sensology' INSET day. Sounds fab, wish I could have gone but the tickets are £50!!

I have also written a note in DD1's home school book because since starting SS I have no idea what input she is actually getting in terms of OT, SALT and Physio (Although I know she is getting it, because she keeps showing me her 'excercises'.

I have been really busy, because I have taken a position on a Interim Partnership Board for a Children's Centre and have been on a couple of training courses, and have a Parents' forum for that on Wednesday.

I have also agreed to be Chair of DD2's preschool Committee which is going to be a big job, but doesn't officially start until January. We have a big fundraising event on Friday, so have a few bits to get doing for that.

DD1 has her Annual Review in January, so I have to think about that as well.

I am still very worried about her mobility, she is more wobbly by the day, it seems, but I need to wait for her blood results. If they are negative, I'm not sure what comes next Confused

Waiting for OT report to arrive before taking on HT/SENCO again.
So may or may not be doing battle this week.
