Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Good luck everyone.

Trying to get my head round the fact that OT is recommending a statement. Never going to happen anyway, because according to school he doesn't have any additional needs at all. So that's fun.

Also appointments a gogo the next two weeks, physio, opthamologist, SALT etc, so going to be knackered and all out of baby sitting favours, LOL.

Not planning any fighting this week (just for a change Wink).
Writing complaint letter about awful Camhs counsellor. School that we want are trying to increase statement hours so that will be interesting.

Waiting to see if there's a place in the SN school we want DS2 to attend. Having got the go-ahead from the LA, it'd be a real downer if we faltered at the last hurdle.

Looking at schools, hoping for one that will a) want ds, and b) actually understand his statement, Hmm

hope and fear all mixed up,

but accompanied by lovely lovely portage teacher, (I could just hug her sometimes)Grin Blush

Why do we have to be fighting so much?

This week (and for many to come I think) I will be fighting the school to give my ds the support they say he needs but are not providing.

Just spoken to parent partnership so have started things moving,

(fingers crossed)

And good luck to everyone else with thier fights and paperwork stuff.

Posted too soon. Was putting ds's tube feeding delivery away (or as away as it ever is) and realised that once again we have been sent out of date bottles of feed. "Only" 7 out of 24 so we have some to be getting on with but now have to arrange to get them replaced. They only just phoned to let me know the outcome from last time - which was they don't know how we were sent out of date stuff. These are prescription items.so.should have been checked by a pharmacist.
Have complained to company and ds's dietitian ny phone. Will be sending follow up letters too.

Looking for new school but it is going to be a fight to prove that is the best place for him

Meeting my MP on Friday about lack of services generally for children with ASDs, but specifically for those who are home educated as the services that do exisst are budgeted directly towards schools. No school = no autism service.

I've had an email from the Head of Access and Inclusion saying that we can't have Autism Outreach because ds doesn't go to school. So that makes him not autistic any more, does it?

So I want my MP (who is on the Education Select Committee) to argue for differentiation between Education issues, Risk and Welfare issues, and Disability issues, because at the moment they all seem to be inappropriately linked but shouldn't be.

Good luck to everyone in their battles.

Well, I won my fight :) I've been given the upgraded version of some software for uni, that I also need at home. I rang today and the supplier are posting it out!

I hope all those still fighting have some good luck, very soon :)
