I managed to hold it together at school, she went in fine, we met her 1:1 and i left.

Now an hour latter i have realised that my little girl has gone to MS school, i never imagined this day would come, i'm so proud of her getting to where she is now, a year ago she was non-verbal, non- resposive and now (this morning) she's running around the playground with the other children and watching her run around you would'nt think she's any different from the other children. She's done so well and proved everyone wrong (including me), she's worked so hard over the past year.

I can't wait to pick her up, hug her and tell her how much i love her Smile.

Just going to add a picture on my profile Smile.

What a nice post Marne, and she looks so sweet :). Its always nice to read threads like this.

I hope that I can get my DS to the same stage next year - well done to you too as I bet you worked just as hard as she did.

She looks gorgeous and so grown up.

I hope she has a great day. :)

TheArsenicCupCake · 02/09/2010 11:55

what a lovely post :)

ds2 started secondary school today.. He looked far too grown up! I'm a little jittery and clock watching.

BriocheDoree · 02/09/2010 12:02

Oh cute! Whilst I am very pleased I don't have to deal with uniform (can't imagine trying to get my determined little lady to wear a white blouse or white socks!) they DO look cute on the little ones. Hope she has a lovely day.
My DS started school today. Even though he's NT I was still a bit choked up because he's my "baby"!!

genieinabottle · 02/09/2010 12:05

Well done to your dd2. I hope she had a fab morning.
DS isn't starting until the 14th. And i'm dreading it...

Marne · 02/09/2010 12:23

She had a fab morning, she even managed to stay dry and the teacher said at play time she knocked on the window to ask to go to the loo (she never asks at home).

On the down side, all the gates were left open to the playground which gives access to the main road Angry, this is one of the things they promised wouldn't happen as dd2 will run off.

genieinabottle · 02/09/2010 12:28

Glad to hear she enjoyed it, and coped well.

Did you have a word with anyone about the situation with the gates?

Marne · 02/09/2010 12:31

No but i will be tomorrow, i didn't really speek to the teacher (its hard to get anything out of her), they seem to think because she has a 1:1 with her she will be safe but only takes a second for her to bolt and she has no sense of danger.

Marne Grin yay!

Angry about the gates - nip that one in the bud.

Marne · 02/09/2010 13:28

Thank you Lougle xxx

so pleased it went well Smile

Hope you get the gates sorted. Will the other parents back you up, it's probably a worry to them too, even if it's not to the same extent. It certainly was for me when my dcs (NT) started school and the gates were always open.

ouryve · 02/09/2010 15:17

She looks adorable in her uniform, marne.

Angry about the gates, though. They need to get off their backsides and sort that one out.

WasUnderThirthy · 02/09/2010 18:06

Congrats Marne's dd!
:)

niminypiminy · 02/09/2010 18:40

Well done Marne's dd and Marne too Smile!

Ellie4 · 02/09/2010 21:20

Yeah to Marne's dd. You must be so proud. It sounds like she has done fab in the last year. Well done to you both.

Marne · 03/09/2010 20:55

Thank you.

Today went well apart from her splitting her lip open after falling off the wheely board thing (so many children have fallen off these things), she didn't make a fuss though and let them put a ice pack on her.

What a lovely post Marne, brought a little tear to my eye. She looks ever so smart in her uniform, both your DDs do.

Glad she had a lovely day, get them sorted about those gates though!

Is that your new house in the next photo?

Marne · 03/09/2010 21:13

Thanks 5inthebed, the gates were shut today Grin, yes thats a photo of our new house, we pick the keys up on tuesday, the dd's are so excited about the garden and can't wait to have a room each.

OP posts:
5inthebed · 03/09/2010 22:38

Well the new house looks lovely. When do you move?

Marne · 04/09/2010 07:49

We get the keys next week but we are still paying rent here so we are going to decorate the new house before moving in, hopefully we will move in 2 weeks time. I can't wait.

OP posts:
5inthebed · 04/09/2010 08:18

I bet you can't! Must be so exciting for you, finally having all your family sleeping on the same floor of the house :)

Hope your move goes well.
