Think I had the quickest - Sent off the DLA form cant remember the date exactly now, got a letter awarding it around 2/3 days later and another letter which came about 2/3 days after we had got the decision saying that they would make a decision soon dated the day after they received the form from us this was after we already had the decision.

claw3 · 26/07/2010 11:03

Id nominate myself for the longest, i applied in February 2009 and didnt receive a decision until March 2010, 13 months! payment took even longer 16 months!

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 26/07/2010 11:24

did you have to go to tribunal claw?? Bet that was a nice back pay though

Lisa, yes 3 tribunals! 1st was adjourned for more evidence. 2nd was cancelled as they had the same member sitting on the panel which is not allowed and 3rd we finally received a decision.

It also took 4 attempts at a decision notice, 1st got the dates of award wrong, 2nd was an error of law ie awarded lower rate mobility when he hadnt turned 5 years old. 3rd got his name wrong and 4th got it right!

Back pay was only awarded lower rate for both, so about £2,500. They have now become frantic with payment and have to date paid me about £8,000 back pay which i cant touch as they have obviously made another mistake

I think my DLA claim, must be the biggest cock up in the history of claims

Tribunal, yes ive told them, but it all gets rather complicated!

I also applied for a Supersession once the decision was received, so im now waiting to hear if my Supersession was successful and they have backdated my claim at a higher rate hence the money or whether they have just made a mistake. I just keep receiving money in my account, with no explanation of why!

Submitted forms 19 june 2009 still have no firm decision, going to tribunal 27th august, so that will be 14 months.

Spinkle · 26/07/2010 13:03

6 weeks for us, middle rate and lowest mobility. They did telephone to check some stuff out.

I honestly wasn't expecting anything at all so it was a nice surprise.

It wasn't really until I filled in the form that I realised how much extra stuff we do for him.

DS1's I applied in February (end of Feb), got rejection in March and then asked them to look at it again (no new evidence) and in April we got HRC. Weirdos.

MiladyDeSummer · 26/07/2010 13:22

DS was awarded HRC for two years after something like five working days but they are bloody well dragging their heels about mobility now he is three.

Goes to show it's a bit of a lottery I think.

Bigwee, they are bonkers arent they!

1st tribunal, DWP attended and stated that ds had clearly meet the night time criteria, but they adjourned as they needed more evidence for ds's extensive care needs until 2 reports were received.

3rd tribunal 2 reports were received (supporting my claim) and they awarded lower rate for both. So according to this panel, we didnt meet night time requirements and ds's needs were not extensive!

They make it up as they go along!

claw3 · 26/07/2010 13:31

Lisa, they decided to award lower rate for both care and mobility in March 2010 which amounts to about £2,500 which i received in June 2010.

I then applied in June 2010 for a supersession ie look again at my claim and they havent stopped paying lump sums into my account, without any explanation since

sumum · 26/07/2010 16:06

I applied for two on same day, ds award came trough in just under a month, mrc and lrm but six weeks on still waiting to hear about the second one.

debs40 · 26/07/2010 17:38

We applied in May. Got rejected. Asked for a reconsideration (and sent very long letter of explanation in - 43 pages!) but it was then granted last week without them having read the letter - low rate mobility and middle rate care.

Still waiting for the money!

It's been granted until 2013.
