DLA Change of Circumstances

Hi all,
I'm not sure if there's already a thread for this, but thought it might be helpful if anyone could give me their experiences with doing a DLA change of circumstance.
My daughter was awarded MRC and LRM in 2019 aged 5. Her needs have increased, and I recently requested a form for change of circumstances. I'm in the process of filling it in.
Did anyone have any luck with increasing their child's award?

I'm in same boat as you. send the DLA434 form on 2nd week of March and been told its about 14 weeks waiting time. Will keep posted if I hear back. guess it will be Aug/Sept.

Following I sent mine off about 2 weeks ago but hurd wait times could be as long as 25 weeks

I'll be sending mine off the end of this week. When I originally phoned and asked for the form, the lady told me it was currently a 25 week wait!
So I'll be looking at around Christmas time for a decision 😫
Good luck to you both!

Hi, I rang today as I’ve been waiting for my sons since 22nd of December last year and they said 26 weeks. Told me 23.5 weeks just two weeks ago. I’m on week 24. Half a year nearly. I wouldn’t mind but my son should have it already really. He has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, a visual impairment, global developmental delay and microcephaly among other things. Just waiting to see if he is awarded higher rate mobility because as it stands he only gets the lower rate. He has a wheel chair now he’s older aswell. He can walk but it’s so dangerous for him with his epilepsy and visual impairment as he can’t really see very well. Now he’s 5ft 9in towering over me. It’s becoming extremely hard.

I just got a letter from DWP for my daughter's reassessment application. It states they have received the application on 12-May and it would take about 11 weeks.
I'm bit confused as to whether they are just acknowledging the receipt of the application or a case worker is looking into it. Did anyone get this letter?

I have made peace with fact I may not hear anything this side of Christmas and anything sooner is bonus ;)

Hope those who applied in Dec 2022 hear something soon.

I received another letter yesterday saying it is 15 weeks. Did anybody have any luck so far?

Beckyc87x · 14/07/2023 14:24

I heard back after 26 weeks and got denied for the hrm for my son. He has profound learning difficulties, visual impairment, cerebral palsy, epilepsy among other things. I get the hrc for him but lrm. I have a mandatory reconsideration in now so it’s been a week so far since they got it. I think it takes about 3-4 weeks for that. But if it’s a change in circumstance then I wouldn’t expect it back for around 26 weeks from the date they received. It’s such a long drawn out process. The time that they take does change and could go down from 26 weeks. I’d ring them and as them the time scale in which they’re getting the forms looked at by. Mine is from the 22nd December 22.

Beckyc87x · 14/07/2023 14:26

It won’t go to the decision maker until the 15 weeks is passed. Or however many weeks they are saying it takes for them to be looked at. Mine literally got looked at on the 16th june. And that’s from the 22nd of December. But when the decision maker looks at it then it usually isn’t long after that that you hear anything.
