How much have you lost on SW?

Hi all! So recently I was doing a loose low carb diet, then started the MM blood sugar diet for a little bit and it was really working for me. I've since been advised not to do a low carb diet at the moment, which is disappointing, and my doctor suggested slimming world might be a good way to go.

I'm just curious as to how much you have all lost? I'm thinking if I do do it, I'm not going to allow myself the 15 syns a day as I don't really snack a lot at the moment and I think that will lead to bad habits - I did slimming world a while ago and put on weight, and I think that was why.

I'm so disappointed at having to stop a diet that was getting results, that I could do with hearing some positive SW stories :) I have a stone to lose
Thank you!

I lost a stone. It was all I wanted to lose. Just small changes in my diet made the difference.
Took me 12 weeks though, a steady loss, no gains in that time.
I didn’t think it would work so I was delighted. Am maintaining the loss reasonably easily.

Thanks for posting @greenteaandchives that’s exactly what I needed to hear!

Last year I lost 2 stone, but slowly put it back on after a long stay in hospital. Trying to get my head back into it but it's tough

Lovelivingbythebeach3 · 21/03/2018 22:48

I lost 7 stone over 13 months, and am now working hard at not letting any creep back on. I tried to keep to about 6 syns week and up to 15 at the weekends.

Lovelivingbythebeach3 · 21/03/2018 22:49

6 syns on weekdays!

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 21/03/2018 22:50

I lost 2 1/2 stone over about 6 months this time last year, so far I have managed to keep it off too!

FrozenMargarita17 · 21/03/2018 23:00

1 stone in 6 weeks. Still going!

IheartCaptainHolt · 22/03/2018 01:12

3st 10 in 9 months. Just over a stone to go

Groovee · 22/03/2018 02:45

4.5 stone in 14 months. Hit Target this week so now trying to maintain starts. Am delighted and find it's a lifestyle change rather than a diet.

Molliekennedy · 22/03/2018 09:07

When I had my DD, I weighed 16st 4lbs. Now I weigh 11.13, this is after 2 years and still going. Lots of ups and downs but yeah slimming world gives results in my experience. Hope that helps xx

trinitybleu · 22/03/2018 09:09

1st 2lbs in 6 weeks. Previously lost 2.5st over about 5 months.

overitalready · 22/03/2018 09:10

4.5 stone over a year. Had 6 months off, put on 10lb & then re started - lost another 1.5 stone. Am now below target for the last year.
The diet is easy, maintaining is the hard bit!

whyistherumgone · 22/03/2018 09:14

Wow, you are all amazing! Well done on your losses - that's so much.
Congrats, I'm seriously impressed.

Thanks for posting, I was really on the fence as you know there's a lot of negativity on MN about SW, but as far as I can see it just seems like a structure for sensible and flexible eating. I think I'm going to give it a go!
You've all given me the boost I need, so thank you. :)

I really don't understand why Drs recommend slimming world all the time Hmm.

I've tried slimming world - I recommend weight watchers. Lost 1.5stone over a summer to get me to an "average" BMI, mostly through their "no count" food list approach, which would suit you very well if you're not into snacking.

Kim82 · 22/03/2018 11:08

I’ve lost 1st, 10lb over 9 weeks. I’ve got another 3st to go but hopefully that’ll be gone by the end of the year.

MrsPreston11 · 22/03/2018 12:17

25lb ins 10 weeks. Still the same again to go really.

I use about 10 syns a day, but usually that's in meals. So maybe BBQ sauce with meat, salsa, salad dressing, sausages that are low syn, cheese (always use my Hex A for milk so I syn cheese)

OuchLegoHurts · 22/03/2018 13:16

A stone and a half - so easily...and healthily, eating a very balanced diet. have kept it off for a year.

FluffAndFluster · 22/03/2018 16:54

8lbs in a month. I’m really enjoying it.

jinglebells123 · 22/03/2018 17:12

I joined in January when I was at my heaviest (not including my pregnancy/post pregnancy weight).

I was 11 st 10 and I’m 5’7. I’ve lost 10 lb so far and that’s including a week away on holiday at an all inclusive resort. Initially I was losing 2 lbs a week but it’s slowed down to around 1lb which hopefully means it’s more sustainable.

I really rate it and I rarely feel restricted in what I’m eating. I still have another 6lb to lose to hit target and then I’m hoping to lose a bit more.

fromtheshires · 22/03/2018 17:13

I'm probably an anomaly, but I hit 3stone 1.5lbs off last night after just 12 weeks!!

Start weight 17st 9lbs
Current weight 14st 7.5 lbs

Normally i give up, but the random strangers from group really keep me on track and accountable as I would have given up before now if I didnt have group.

I know people will say my loss is unhealthy, however I have been eating three good meals a day with a snack if im feeling hungry and am not feeling deprived at all. Its from literally making 90% of what goes into my mouth from scratch instead of from a packet.

Ginger1982 · 22/03/2018 17:18

I've lost over 1.5 stone. I don't always stick to plan so probably would have lost a lot more if I had!

sweetmonkeys · 22/03/2018 20:22

3.5 stone in 9 months. I've gone from a size 16/18 to a 10/12. Now happily maintaining and have been since last year.

Good luck Thanks

Pomeranio9834 · 22/03/2018 20:26

2 and a half stone in 7 months

Starting at 12 stone 11 about now at 10 stone 7.

Admittedly I haven't always stuck to it 100% and had off weeks and also honestly a nasty break up accounted for about half a stone of that and then a stone back on when we got back together

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 23/03/2018 21:23

I've lost 4 stone

mooncuplanding · 23/03/2018 21:27

Why has your doctor advised you to stop low carbing?
