Extra Easy SP - post your meals & snacks here
PhoebeMcPeePee · 30/12/2014 10:38
If you've been to group this week you'll have been introduced to extra easy SP - a way of boosting your weight-loss which I'm sure a few of us could do with this time of year . All the foods are listed in the new pack but if you haven't got it yet it's basically most of the old speed foods EXCEPT potatoes, pasta, rice so lots of fruit & veggies plus meat, fish & eggs along with HEA & 2 HEB.
One of the reasons I like SW is because I couldn't last without pasta, rice & potatoes but could certainly manage a few days so thought I'd share my meal & snack ideas over the next few days & hopefully some more of you will do the same as I'm slightly lacking in inspiration:
B: fry lighted mushrooms & tomatoes, egg & bacon medallions fat removed
S: orange
L: super speed soup
Snack: Apple & hifi bar
D: chicken breast, mashed swede & carrot plus steamed spinach
HEA : milk for coffee
HEB 1: hifi bar
HEB 2: tbc
scousadelic · 30/12/2014 10:44
I don't do SW at the moment as I had never got on with the Extra Easy, it just didn't seem to work for me.
Is this new diet like the old "Red days"? On those you ate unlimited meat, fish, eggs, etc, unlimited healthy veg, HEA and HEB which had a small optional amount of bread, potatoes, pasta in although you could have healthier stuff like beans instead.
PhoebeMcPeePee · 30/12/2014 13:06
I didn't do the old plan but yes sounds very similar except the healthy extra A is calcium rich (cheese, milk etc) & the B is high fibre like certain breads & crackers, cereals & cereal bars etc so on this new super sp there is no pasta, rice etc although it's only meant to be for limited periods I think. Oh & no bananas or fat free yogurt which I'll struggle with
scousadelic · 30/12/2014 14:54
I think HEA and HEB were always like that Phoebe to an extent
Green days were unlimited pasta, potatoes, rice, , beans, veg and, on those days, B included small portions of meat, fish, etc
Red days were unlimited meat, fish, eggs, veg and, on those days, B included a small amount of potato, beans, etc
I am a dieting veteran and have seen these groups move from sensible healthy food to an over-reliance on processed junk (like WW products, Mullerlights, etc) so I'm glad they are moving back to healthier eating. Low fat yoghurt really is crap stuff, they take out the fat which keeps you satisfied then thicken up the resulting thin, runny, chemical goop with cheap starches. I never understood why they included that and ruled out healthier wholefoods.
Squtternutbaush · 30/12/2014 15:02
You are allowed pasta/potatoes etcetc as far as we were told last night, just smaller portions as they're not part of the SP free foods.
Todays meal plan-
Breakfast: Porridge & 2 satsumas
Lunch: Veg & tuna spaghetti with tomato sauce
Snack: 100g natural yogurt & melon
Dinner: Homemade lentil soup
Snack: All Bran
HEA: 250ml semi-skimmed milk
HEB: 35g porridge & 40g All Bran
Syns: 3.5
andadietcoke · 30/12/2014 20:47
I've got my new pack but weigh in was just drop in today so no class to explain it all.
For those of you that have had some orientation to it, were you told that it was a weekly switch to SP, or would a day here and there work?
Squtternutbaush · 30/12/2014 21:14
A day here and there is fine, I did it today but will be flexi-synning tomorrow/Wednesday then back to it to help get rid of the 3.5lbs ive put on
Remember though its not supposed to be a long term plan just a boost.
PhoebeMcPeePee · 30/12/2014 23:12
Our leader said if you can manage it for a week (as a one off) you'll see a big difference but on-going a day or 2 a week should help boost your weight loss - I'm thinking damage limitation after a big night out . Having done 1 day there's no way I could do a week without bananas, blueberries, yogurt or pasta/rice/potatoes but can see how it would help occasionally.
MrsLindor · 31/12/2014 09:14
I always used success express like that, just one or two days to pull it back after a day off plan.
I don't think I could manage a full week, work lunches would be a challenge.
katienana · 31/12/2014 09:27
I might do a day of it here and there will probably use my b choices on weetabix and bread and then have meat with loads of veg for dinner.
think the new syn values are more realistic I fancy a nandos now I can have chicken sweetcorn and rice for a few syns.
PhoebeMcPeePee · 31/12/2014 11:39
Today I'm having:
B: Grilled Mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon medallions & scrambled egg
Snack: Apple & satsuma
Lunch: leftover super speed
Soup & fruit
Dinner: 6 course NYE dinner at friends (which I know includes dauphinois & a pavlova )
andadietcoke · 31/12/2014 14:01
That makes sense. I read it through properly last night and found that you get two HEB choices, which I'd missed, and if you're doing it long term you can add an extra HEA or a low fat yoghurt which I can see would make it more sustainable.
Today I've had poached eggs and smoked salmon with an apple for breakfast (totally not half my plate but forgot that part until after I'd finished and one of the DTs stole my second Apple)
Lunch was mixed salad (with sweetcorn, again didn't think) and chicken with peri peri salt and lighter than light mayo.
Trying to do damage limitation before tonight, and then will try and stick to SP until weigh in on Tuesday...
annielostit · 01/01/2015 13:09
Well got on the scales and my December loss has reappeared. Its magic!! Rejoined group yesterday or it would be another week.
Trying sp today had
Bacon, egg, tomatoes mushrooms(like baby slugs) and hexb of toast.
Will make some soup for later as have big hangover. Dinner isn't thought about yet,
What's everyone having?x
iklboo · 01/01/2015 13:17
I've not got a class till next Thursday. What's the new syn values? Have they 'recalculated' them all?
annielostit · 01/01/2015 14:40
I think its trying to steer us into more fresh choices. Less processed/added things.
The sp is low in pasta rice & potatoes. You don't have to do it.
If you do you get 2 hex b choices & 1 A.
Its supposed to boost weight loss. Alone the lines of the original (red) plan.
I haven't looked much at syns, I try to stick to 1 x5 syn cake daily so I can have wine on Fridays.
Will read more later.
iklboo · 01/01/2015 15:29
Thank you. I've just looked at the website (like the new meal planner). Pretty straightforward. Looks like a week of fruit, lean meat & fish, lots of veg and cous cous for me!
HelenaDove · 01/01/2015 16:43
I dont know what the new SP plan is but i want to continue with what i am already doing.
a. It works Ive lost over 3 stone apart from my Christmas gain.
b. I endured FIVE MONTHS of colic and incredible pain while shrinking my portion sizes at the start because despite what SW say if i eat too much pasta i dont lose so i gave it up (apart from when i go to my mums once a fortnight)
c. I dont want a plan where im having to think about it ALL the time because then you end up developing an unhealthy relationship with food. And changes means rethinking the whole thing. There is more to me than my weight so i just want to eat healthily without thinking about it all the time so i can also concentrate on other things going on in my life.
After the five months of incredible stomach pain and mental angst i went through at the start yet STILL persevered with it i wont change it now.
HelenaDove · 01/01/2015 16:44
So its a boost so more pressure to lose more weight at a rate of knots . Fabulous
annielostit · 01/01/2015 19:17
Helenadove- the sp plan isn't really 'new' its like the sw your doing, its just re written extra easy. You can or can't follow it. It looks better on paper for them. if it ain't broken, don't try to fix it. Your doing well by your current loss. Keep it up.x

My Meeting is on Thursday, I'm hoping to lose the 2.5lbs I gained over Christmas by sticking as closely to the SP plan as I can. There are 6 more full days until weigh in so I'm going to try my hardest! I survived on Muller lights, Bananas and Mugshots so it's a bit of a struggle for me, however I can't say I've missed the carbs so far, I've enjoyed all the meals I've eaten, and it would never have crossed my mind to leave out the pasta/potatoes/rice.
HelenaDove · 03/01/2015 02:58
I have Mugshots Im not giving them up FFS! I gave up dried pasta in Sept 2013 when i started back at SW. Eat loads of veg keep my potatoes small but one of my favourite snacks is two boiled eggs with a mugshot. Gave up Mullerlights over a year ago because i didnt like the amount of sugar in them. I also have the sainsburys beef ravioli because its free. Its ridiculous its like Atkins without the cheese FFS. I cant afford to eat how its listed above I CANT AFFORD IT END OF. i will just have to carry on doing what ive been doing.
Cant eat bananas Both those and the drug co-codamol will put me in hospital with crippling pains. Doc has told me to lay off citrus fruit in Sept 2013 because it gives me colic.
So i already gave up a lot of stuff including diet coke which i forgot to mention in the first paragraph.
So i had better get fucking ready to sit in the fucking class and listen to everyone else have bigger losses than me.
Like fuck will i I will weigh and leave. If i wanted to do fucking Atkins i would already be doing fucking Atkins. Sorry for rant but im fucking fed up with all the chopping and changing.
HelenaDove · 03/01/2015 03:03
Oh i gave up Super Noodles as well to lower my carbs just over a year ago
Things like Chewy Delights Even if i eat one or two a week i dont lose. My body does not cope well with sugar.
candybar · 03/01/2015 10:31
HelenaDove you don't have to change plan, it's just a boost to give a bigger weight loss after Christmas, and hopefully lose what you have put on.
I'm giving it a go because my weight loss has become very slow, I've never been one of these people that losses 7lbs in a week my biggest loss has been 3lb, but recently I've been losing 0.5lb or 1lb, this is ok but it means it's going to take me a very long time to get to target and I'll get fed up and it's likely I'll quit.
Extra Easy SP is like the old Success Express, if you fancy giving it a go that's great but it is optional.
Mugshots are not part of the SP plan, but you can still have them on the Extra Easy.
