Happy new year everyone!

I joined you guys last year but I couldn't do it by myself. Loads od you advised that going to the group might make a difference, at least in the beginning. So I decided to join a group, first one is tomorrow evening. I hope that going once a week will force me into sticking to it. Quite scared somehow, which I know is silly.

Also it's at 7.30pm so surely weigh in will be different each week considering on what I have been eating/drinking? I might weigh myself in the morning as well.

I would love to lose almost 4 stone.

Went back to class last night and discovered ive only gained 3 and a half pounds over the whole of Christmas and New Year. Which i was surprised about considering what i ate. I usually gain 9 pounds over Christmas so im fairly pleased.
Back on plan as of yesterday and back on excersise regularly today I intended to keep on excsersising over Christmas but woke up the day before New Years Eve and could NOT put my left heel to the floor. its not 100 % better but its bearable enough to excersise on.
And i gave away 3 tins of biscuits that i got as presents And one of those was a Foxes Wonders tin with white choc biccies. The other 2 were a big red Fabulous Foxes tin and a Victoria tin. < dons halo> Smile

Well done steff, that's a great start to the year.

Well done, too, Darkest, that's some serious commitment by giving all those biscuits away.

steff you must be chuffed with that. Your overall loss in such a short time is great too.

darkest you must be pleased with that, it'll be easy to get that off again.

claret brilliant first week!

I had gained 1/2lb at weigh in last night. I don't mind as I lost 2 1/2 in the previous two weeks over Christmas, but I am cross with myself as there was no need for it. I just got complacent as I got away with so much the fortnight before. I did win Slimmer Of The Month for December though, so really thrilled with that and got to choose a recipe book as my 'prize'.

Can I join please? I joined last week. I am on the green plan as I don't eat meat but I do eat fish.

I had the most amazing filling lunch today. 3 bean quorn chilli on a jacket potato, no butter. I was full all afternoon and it was all free. I haven't had any syns today yet, I usually like a little chocolate treat with a cuppa tea before bed. I am just about to read through all of your posts for inspiration. Thanks

3lbs down this week Grin

I went to my first group and thought it was quite good. Have now stuck to the plan for three days but am finding it hard not be tempted, especially at work when everyone is eating the whole time.

Instead of going to Wednesday group as I did this week it turns out there is one closer to work, so I will switch days to Mondays. So my first week is a short one, hope there will still be a tiny weight loss nevertheless.

I can't actually go this week but I have decided to weigh in on Monday morning myself as well. Due to the group times I think I will sometimes have to eat something beforehand and I think it could influence the precision. I was 7 pounds heavier in the evening than in the morning! Will continue to go to group though as I need the support. Does everyone else just rely on evening weigh ins? I just don't see how it doesn't vary loads when you drink more/have early dinner or whatever.

So according to my scales I started on 87kg (I find it easier to count in kg/pounds than stone).

Trinity: That is a fantastic weight loss for one week!

Cleret: Well done to you too! That must be such a good motivation to keep going next week :)

Wannabe can you not find another group for the week you will miss. They will charge you even if you don't attend.

Look for some free snacks to help you through the day. There are some great ones on the slimming world website.

I need a bit of help to see the light. I started SW last May weighting 12st7 and a size 14-16. I've lost 2st2 so far and my size 12 clothes are getting looser. But, whenever I look at myself all I see is the fat that is still there. I'm 5ft0 so a little fat goes a long way. I know I'm slimmer because of my clothes but other than that I can't see it AT ALL. I have no idea what target to set or if I'm ever actually going to be happy with how I look.

I've always been on the chubbier side, the only time I've been really confident is when I've been heavily pregnant.

Help!

Morning, may I join in?
I've been doing SW on & off for years & know that it works, but I can get so complacent! So have rejoined & lost 3lbs in my first week.

Hoping that by chatting with all of you will focus me during the week Smile.

Comedy, I won't be able to go to a different group. The Wednesday group is being moved somewhere inaccessible and on Monday I have a work commitment. I would have started a week later if I had known but I talked to the group leader and she put in that I am working so I won't have to pay for Monday. She will call me next week to check in how it's going and to answer any questions, I thought that was really nice.

I am eating mostly fruit as a snack at the moment. If I was to eat a mugshot for a snack because I was staying at work late or an egg or whatever, would I still have to eat one third superfree? What about when I eat a yoghurt? I do do it for main meals but wasn't sure about snacks.

Hells: I am new so not sure I am good with advice but are you doing any exercise to tone up? Did you take measurements or yourself?

Report
HellsGranny · 12/01/2014 12:21

Yes I've taken measurements, logically I know I'm slimmer than I was, I just can't see it.

Maintained again on Wednesday. Fed up now - if I was at target it'd be grand, but I'm about 3 stone shy of my ideal weight!

Have been really quite good this week - tonight is my treat night - chips and a chocolate bar at the ice hockey.

Then we'll see on Wednesday how I've done - am going skating on Tuesday so that will be some exercise too :)

Thanks everyone. Have had a slight incident with some Festive Friends this afternoon Sad Am taking my very controlled approach to some Aldi toblerone last night as a very positive sign ... there I was with the scales, weighing out 10 syns worth very precisely Grin

Hey guys can I join in? Started sw last Wednesday, looking to lose at least 5 stone! Finding it ok so far but suppose I won't know how it's really going until wi day. Looking forward to it & dreading it at the same time!

Hey everyone!

wannabee I don't do it with snacks, I just have them alone, but then I randomly shovel in some fruit and veg during the day.

I try to make the whole day in thirds as best as poss.

I've stopped doing the group, time wise I just don't have at the moment, but for evening weigh in I tried to wear the same and more or less eat the same.

I'm just going to weigh myself every monday in the mean time and see how it goes. I still have access to my online bit, does anyone know when/if they close it if I don't go?

I'm having a go at making Thai Prawn Coconut Curry tonight - wish me luck. I tend not to be much of a cook and this one has an ingredient in it that I have never used before - coconut milk - which always makes me suspicious.......

Have made a spag bolognese this evening and no complaints from DS either. He is healthy eating without realising it.

I got a little help when I started nearly two weeks ago so thanks everyone as I lost four pound first week Grin
I'm not generally a big first week loser so I'm dead chuffed.

Trying lots of sw recipes but has anyone else found they're all a bit heavy on the liquid , I've taken to halving the suggestion and then adding as needed so I don't end up with slop

I'm glad this thread is back. I found the other one really helpful. I've been following the extra easy plan since September (I think) and am jusy shy of my 3 stone award :-) I would like to lose another 3 stones so half way there. I exercise 5/6 times a week so I think this is why I've lost quite a lot in a short space of time.
