he's up there now getting hot and sweaty, red faced, screaming, crying the place down, and only just started doing it again. He keeps saying he wants to be "in there", in other words go in our room.

He cries so much he is coughing and I think he is going to be sick any minute.

Is it really that cruel to leave him to get on with it. I worry as I am listening that the noises he is making is him being sick sometimes!

had a nightmare of a night again tonight. He wouldn't go. Decided to be hard about it and ignore him. He ended up being sick.

oh poor you. we have been having bedtime trauma with our 2yo, but a saintly lady called twofalls suggested story cds and they have transformed our life.

DS will happily snuggle down under his duvet with a story playing on his cd player, and is asleep in seconds. never gets to the end of the story!

HTH

knowing my two, they will listen to the bitter end, I'll be up all night changing cd's!

we taught DS to put them on himself, now I don't care if he's listening to twenty five of them on the trot, as long as he's not screaming at the top of the stairs!

in reality though, he's invariably asleep within ten minutes.

just got to buy a cheap cd player first!
