She was under a year old, possibly 6 months?
I will find out what nanny's name was.
Basically did what article said in port and lemon's post.
Said when baby was supposed to be asleep she stayed in her bed with back rubbing, gentle calming.
At times when she should be awake, play with them, keep them awake so they don't fall asleep to make up for lost sleep at night- unless a nap time.
So their dd was given routine of having two day time naps- am and pm, bed about 7pm (dream feed at some point), keep in bed at night no matter how unsettled and wake at 7am to start first feed.
They wanted to stop breast feeding as the mum was going back to work. She expressed and used ebm in bottles. Went cold turkey with no more breast feeds, only bottles with breast milk.
Was very hard for first 24 hours but both parents determined to make it work as, like you, were being woken every hour at night and having to rock their dd to sleep day and night.
I saw their dd the following week (after nanny visited) and had my first hold of her in months as she was never happy to sit with anyone other than her mum or dad. She was smiling, gurgling, a different child because she was getting proper sleep. Whereas before she had only had 20 min naps here and there throughout day after being rocked to sleep.
