DS not quite 4. Will be 4 in Feb and sleeps from 7.30 pm until 7 am. Doesn't seem to be enough at the moment - Sat, Sun and Mon he fell asleep in the car and yesterday it was after about two minutes suggesting to me that he was quite tired.

Kittypickle · 14/12/2004 14:54

DD (nearly 6) seems to have cut back from 12 hours to 9- 10 hours in the last few months.

gothicsanta · 14/12/2004 14:55

blimey dd 4 sleep by 8.30 usually still protesting awake by 7 or earlier

santaclary · 14/12/2004 14:55

3.5 yo and 5.5 yo (is that close enough coddy?) sleep 7pm to 6.30am or so. Sometimes up a bit earlier but not before 6am. Rarely later in bed. So that's 11-11.5 hrs.
why do you ask?

msann · 14/12/2004 14:56

my 5 & 7 year olds go to bed at 7pm most evenings...7.30pm if theyre being v gud! 7 yr old wakes around 6.30am & reads/draws quietly in her bedroom 5 yr old wakes up whenever any1 goes in her room to get her up! if not its usually 7.15am ish

Kittypickle · 14/12/2004 15:00

Actually I'm lying, now I've counted on my fingers it's 10 hours, not 9 !

11 - 12

princessinapeartree · 14/12/2004 16:39

mine both go to bed at between 6.30 and 7 and wake up between 6 and 6.30, 7 only on very rare and prized occasions.

posyhairdresser · 14/12/2004 16:51

My 5 yr old is asleep from 7.30pm to 6.30am - she has added an extra hour's sleep since starting school - she used to go to sleep at 8.30pm.

Sadly for us she always gets up at 6.30pm (or earlier) even after a late night. Why?

posyhairdresser · 14/12/2004 16:52

OOPs - a typo there - meant to say she always gets up at 6.30 AM!!!

snowmeltsonthebeach · 14/12/2004 16:52

7 and 3 year old go to bed 7.30 - 8 and wake up 7 to 7.30am (or yesterday 7.45am aaaah panic - only just made it to school)

binkie · 14/12/2004 16:53

dd 4, 7.30 - 7 - asleep as head hits pillow

ds 5 and-nearly-three-quarters, 8 - 7 - suspect he reads/sings/makes nests/attempts to talk to dd for a while, so more like 10 hours than 11

DingDongDinosaurOnHigh · 14/12/2004 16:54

DS1 - nearly five and a half - from about 8.30 p.m. to about 7 a.m.

Used to be more like 11 hours, he definitely seems to need a bit less sleep now.

MissYulie · 14/12/2004 16:56

My 5 year old goes to bed at 9 and I have to drag her out of the bed at 8 for school. My three year old goes at 7.45 and wakes at about 7.30. Am I a bad mummy for letting my 5 year old stsay up that late.

juniperdropofbrandy · 14/12/2004 16:56

4 and 7 yr old both go to sleep between 8-9 and get up between 7.30 and 8.

codswallop · 14/12/2004 17:36

My DS's are 6yo and go to bed at 7:30 to 8pm, and usually wake just before our alarm goes off at 7:00am.
I try to make it more 7:30 than 8 otherwise they can be very grumpy in the morning.

Carla · 14/12/2004 18:09

dds - 5and 6, bed around 8.30/9.00, up at 7.30.

Gobbledigoose · 14/12/2004 18:11

ds1 (4 in March) - 7.15-7ish

ds2 (just 2) - the same but would sleep longer if not for ds1!

TheHollyAndTheTwiglett · 14/12/2004 18:14

DS (4 in Feb) normally goes upstairs after Maggie and the Roast Beef (ferocious beast ) at 7.20 for bath, 'puter stories and bed with DH .. so normally around 8ish

gets up around 8 (though sometimes 7.30 and sometimes have to wake him up at 8.30 to get him ready for pre-school) so that'd be 11 to 12 hours and a generally smug-a-mum

(of course vomiting and tummy ache bug meant we were up all night )

ChristmasCracker · 14/12/2004 18:49

Dd1 age 7 sleeps from 7.30 until 7am on school days or until about 7.45 on weekends.

Dd2 age 5 about the same although she often wakes at about 3 for a moan.

Ds age 2 from about 7.30 until about 6.30
