Entertain me. I am sitting in the dark at the foot of a 3 year old's bed being shouted at.

dd2 says there is 'no milk in your feeds now mummy' (unsurprisingly ) and for the first time is trying to get herself to sleep

I am sitting on the end of the bed listening to her wail "I want to go in your bed" over and over again

if it wasn't dark I would probably be able to see her tearstained red face but as it is she is a fleece-covered dark blur

tell me jokes

find me pictures of Kiefer Sutherland with no top on

this could be a long night

oh good

you know what I was going to get if our plan A didn't work? one of those big tall cylinder things with a light inside and water and bubbles and plastic fish going up and down. Do you know what I mean? I was going to buy one of those and strictly only put it on at bedtime

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 21:30

well you got through the first evening Capp, tick that one off mentally

I also sat with ds for quite a while beforehand each evening in his bed and kind of love bombed him

I told him special stories about how he was the most wonderful child in the world etc etc and oh, anything I could think of. I felt I was topping him up with love that he would need to help him get through being on his own instead of having me there

we did also bf first until he decided to stop, but just for a while and he didn't drop off that way

dd1 has relaxign music on repeat

I find it strangely relaxing myself when I wake up at 4am and hear it drifting up the stairs
