Entertain me. I am sitting in the dark at the foot of a 3 year old's bed being shouted at.

dd2 says there is 'no milk in your feeds now mummy' (unsurprisingly ) and for the first time is trying to get herself to sleep

I am sitting on the end of the bed listening to her wail "I want to go in your bed" over and over again

if it wasn't dark I would probably be able to see her tearstained red face but as it is she is a fleece-covered dark blur

tell me jokes

find me pictures of Kiefer Sutherland with no top on

this could be a long night

Can you sit outside the room, door slightly ajar, nightlight on in dd's room, perhaps radio tuned to soothing music channel on very low?

brimfull · 12/01/2008 19:52

that sounds awful

I am not a serial drug giver to children..honestly!

Cappuccino · 12/01/2008 19:52

okay I have moved into my bedroom

however it is far less relaxing because I keep thinking of jobs I could be doing

Dead important one.

CatIsSleepy · 12/01/2008 19:53

I remember going through this with ds.

It's hard.

It gets easier if you are firm and consistent.

Cappuccino · 12/01/2008 19:56

I really don't know if I am doing the right thing

dh goes away for a fortnight next Saturday - do you think we will have cracked it by then?

if so it will make my life so much easier

if not it will be total nightmare because dh is currently going through dd1's endless round of stories and glasses of water

Three nights, max. Hold your position

CatIsSleepy · 12/01/2008 19:58

sorry I have no useful advice to proffer...

Cappuccino · 12/01/2008 20:03

she is snuffling

actually she is settling suspiciously well

I fear she is doing something very evil very quietly

I have uploaded it to my itunes library Cappucino, anyone know how to swap mp3 files , I need a quick lesson !!!! ??

The 1st time you do it together , so they can ask questons , after that she was happy to do it alone , theres 4 shortish ones on the one cd.

keeptakingthetablets · 12/01/2008 20:05

Yup, you'll be short at least three feet of wallpaper tomorrow morning....

She might be asleep?

Cappuccino · 12/01/2008 20:06

if you drag it onto your desktop it will become a sound file and then you can attach it to emails like any other

if you fancied swopping I am cappuccino dot mum at googlemail dot com

CatIsSleepy · 12/01/2008 20:06

she is probably plotting world domination
best leave her to it...

melsy · 12/01/2008 20:08

ok , will look at that Capuccino , look out for email.

Cappuccino · 12/01/2008 20:08

actually this is going fantastic

I hope I am not speaking too soon

I may go downstairs and have a celebratory drink

however then she will be two storeys up from me and I won't want to move off the sofa....

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 12/01/2008 20:14

bugger

she was not asleep

she was planning her escape and now she is wailing again

OP posts:
CatIsSleepy · 12/01/2008 20:15

curses!

find a very dull thread and read it aloud to her, that should do it

Cappuccino · 12/01/2008 20:19

oh dear I think I am going to be here for a lot longer

I made need to do some more Kiefer googling
