Amberjee · 14/12/2007 00:08

hi everyone! lots of love to all. xxxx

LO has settled down and is now having a magnificent time as are we. yay. a lovely sunny day today too.

bealcain · 14/12/2007 07:22

hello everyone

they both slept through , but woke up at 5am, thats ok though! except went in to get ds2 and he'd been sick everywhere, so both my kids were bathed and fed by 6am.....am i super mum or what lol

hope all is well with you lovely ladies.

Amber - glad LO has settled down

Meg - i'm feeling better thanks, just feeling really nauseous now.

CSB - how was last night hun?

JodieG1 · 14/12/2007 08:57

Hello everyone, thought I'd introduce myself. My ds2 is 11 months old and a terrible sleeper. He goes to sleep at about 7-7.30pm and then will wake every hour during the evening for milk and often stay awake for over an hour. Then during the night he wakes 3- times every night. He's never slept through ever and I'm so tired

I've started a thread asking for suggestions about him so I'm hoping this won't last fofr much longer! I keep telling myself that it won't last forever but it's beginning to feel like it will!

I've also got a 5 year old dd and 4 year old ds1.

MegBusset · 14/12/2007 09:40

Morning all,

Hi Jodie, you deserve a medal for coping with a sleepless LO and two other DC . Sounds exhausting. Do you co-sleep? It has saved my sanity during DS?s worst spells.

Beal you are def. a super mum! Yay for sleep-throughs. Hope your sickness passes soon, I hated ms, although I never actually puked, I just felt queasy all day.

Amber of your sunny day. Blardy freezing here!

CM yay for enjoying DS2, really pleased that things are starting to settle down for you. And well done for being so organised!

Ginger for teething, hope you had a better night last night.

CSB yay for dinner out with DH, sometimes you just have to do it, LO was in v capable hands. Having said that, I have been out just twice since DS was born, and never with DH as well . Still, my mum lives too far away to babysit and I don?t trust anyone else!

RoRo, Tibsy, EP, hope you all had good nights too

Ours was better, one waking from 2.45 for half an hour, but settled quickly after we gave Calpol (we are all full of cold in this house). Then up at 7.

JodieG1 · 14/12/2007 09:50

Hi Meg, yes I'm co-sleeping still. Thinking of offering water at night but really am not sure about what to do.

Glad your night wasn't too bad.

We're off to lapland uk in Kent tomorrow morning so I'm hoping tonight is better for us, we need to leave at 6.30am to get there on time.

RoRoMommy · 14/12/2007 10:18

Hello everyone!

CSB, hooray that you had some time with DP, that's wonderful. It's so important after these little LOs come along.

Meg, I am glad your night was just a blip in an otherwise quite improved situation. I am !

Amber, that's fab news girl! You go enjoy that sunshine now because it's really cold and grey here, as always.

Beal, you poor thing. Am in awe of your stamina for sure. I have no idea what I am going to do when I get preggers again...shut myself up in a room made of just a large bed, methinks, leaving DS to mum and DH! Yeah, right.

Ginger, that you're so busy with work, but we're thinking of you! Good luck with the teething...DS has gotten the three on the top and is really struggling with the fourth, which I am about.

CM, as always I am in complete admiration of your work as a mum...have you got like four hands or something? How do you get it all done? at really enjoying DS2...see, when we say it will get better it actually does! Hooray.

EP, Tibs, everyone else, we miss you! Hope you're having lovely long nights of sleep.

Here in the Roro camp we're not doing so bad. DH and I had a HUGE row over his drinking, and the next morning he wrote a lovely email apologizing and it came to light that he feels like fifth place after Ronan, my job, my mum and myself. Must pay him more attention (and probably more, erm, you know...). DS is still quite constipated despite more water, only pears and prunes for solids, and lots of breastmilk. Funny thing is, I am also pretty bound up, so I think there must be a connection. I've lost a lot of weight and I've been working a lot, and probably not drinking enough water or eating enough, so my milk has very little fat in it (you can see when it settles to the top), and must not have enough liquid content? Anyway, downing water by the litre and trying to eat more fruit. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The nights...well, DH has been in the couch, which isn't ideal, but he had a horrible week at work, really manic, so he needed the rest. I've been feeling really rested most days, though Wednesday I was really shattered, so I guess it's still day-to-day. DS is crawling and nearly walking now (walking along the furniture, etc.), so he's quite tired by the evening. Mum is still keeping him awake until 8-8:30, so he's still sleeping until 6-6:30, which is a dream.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and sorry about the marathon post!

Oops, forgot to welcome Jodie! Good luck with your LO...this is definitely the place to get sage advice and loads of empathy! Oh, and here .

bealcain · 14/12/2007 12:30

RoRo - your mu really is an angel. glad he's sleeping through ok. at least your DH is one that can express his feelings.....

Meg- one waking isn't bad, speically if you're all feeling rubbish, that's really great!

Hi Jodie - what have you tried so far?

Sorry i missed you out this morning CM, was a bit rushed! glad you're not needing us as much these days! well i;m not, coz you're great, but you know what i mean! [ fgrin] everyone seems to be settling down now, theres a few hardcores!!!

ChubbyStuckForAFestiveNameBurd · 14/12/2007 13:37

(((ginger))) - hope you get some rest and the teeth settle down

Beal - good heavens you really are superwoman ... am impressed!

CM so pleased things have been easier ...

Amber, chuffed that you LO is behaving, now you can enjoy yourself but for weather!

Ro I know what you mean about neglecting your DP, mine also makes sad lonely noises (does your LO have the same radar as mine? Knows when I'm about to eat but also when DP and I are contemplating 'grown up fun' )

Meg for more settled nights

Hi Jodie - hope you get to some much needed sleeping soon ... don't know how you guys do it (but suspect I will soon be finding out ... last night was ace though, only 3 wakings so recovering from this spell of shitness at last

tibsy · 14/12/2007 15:05

hello girlies and welcome jodie
we're still with you, just things are a bit manic in the tibsy household and i've got a grumpy mr tibsy to contend with too, ho hum....
havent read thru all i'm sorry, will endeavour to do so later. hope there are some good nights out there.
we've regressed unfortunately to 2ish wakings, still no boob in the night tho, so thats good. think it may be teeth

ah well, better dash. christmassy (((hugs))) to all x

charliemama · 14/12/2007 15:09

Jodie welcome . I posted on your other thread and I'm glad to see you here. I think I have some of the same issues as you, especially regarding routine (or lack of). Lots of people have said routine is the solution, but tbh that just makes me feel crap because DS2 isn't in one. Everyday is different and I have to ferry DS1 to/from school and dd to/from preschool. Invariably Ds2 falls asleep in the car, but always wakes up when we get to whereever we're going. Some days he catnaps all day. I know he needs a good sleep, but how?! I also think he still has an issue with digesting and have booked yet another visit to the gp. (If she says it's colic I think I might smack her! )

for everyone else some very upbeat posts today hurray

MegBusset · 14/12/2007 18:13

I bumped into someone from my old NCT group in town today, he is dad to five kids, of whom three are 10mo (naturally conceived) triplets. And they live in a 2-bed house! Now that's a challenge...

MegBusset · 14/12/2007 21:16

Just had a phone call from my mum... my nan is apparently very ill and not expected to pull through (she has contracted some kind of bacterial infection). She is 93 and has had dementia for some time (just gone into a care home) so not exactly unexpected but still

gingerninja · 14/12/2007 21:35

God, so sorry everyone for not having time to catch up. Just wanted to say Meg big hugs for you. Thinking about you

ChubbyStuckForAFestiveNameBurd · 14/12/2007 22:24

Ditto ginger ... Meg

Amberjee · 14/12/2007 23:32

just a quick one.

RoRo - don't blame your milk love. your body will prioritise milk making and make the most perfect nutritionally sound balanced food/drink ever. i would say it's more to do with LO's body adjusting to solids, it will sort itself out with time. even if your diet is somewhat challenged, your milk is fine. of course you should try to eat well and drink water for your own health though. here endeth my seminar. xxx

Amberjee · 14/12/2007 23:35

and big hugs for meg. thinking of your nan.

tibsy · 15/12/2007 09:23

meg to hear your news lovely. i hope she has a peaceful transition. (((hugs))) to you

MegBusset · 15/12/2007 09:51

Thanks all. No news this morning, am waiting for a call from my mum.

LO was kind to me, anyway, and slept through til 7.30 apart from a brief bit of grizzling around 6am. I'm still feeling very coldy though

bealcain · 15/12/2007 10:14

meg - hugs coming your way hun, and peaceful thoughts to Nan. and yay for LO, they are darlings when they need to be!

sorry to make you all hate me, but i've only just got up! df has taken ds1 out and ds2 is sleeping soundly

got a scan date through, my birthday! how perfect is that? CM sorry to digress but did you get growing pains with ds2?

RoRoMommy · 15/12/2007 12:39

Meg, thinking of you and your nan, great big bear hugs for you, lovely. What a good little boy you have!

Beal, that's great about your birthday! The best gift ever.

Amber, thank you for the support, you're right. Somehow us mums find a way to feel guilty about everything, don't we?

Hugs to everyone else! xxx

Mum is out at the theatre and DH is still sleeping, plus DS is having his nap, so I have the house all to myself with the exception of a couple of mangey pups. So pleased!

MegBusset · 15/12/2007 16:10

Update: my mum has seen my nan this morning and it seems things look a little more positive today. The antibiotics seem to be having some effect so she may pull through after all.

RoRoMommy · 16/12/2007 00:01

So pleased to hear it, Meg. I am sending strong vibes to your nan.

I am feeling a bit guilty tonight...went to a friend's for "one drink" because we had planned to go to a movie after, but then decided to stay and had a few more drinks, I was probably more tipsy than I have been in a great while, and at 11:30 when Ronan usually has his first night feed I was like, we have to go, we have to leave, we have to get back to our baby...

Of course I can do the 11:30 (or whenever, he's not awake yet) feed, but we've got the bottle ready. First a mum...it was fun, but it made me realize what a first priority our little man is in my life.

Meanwhile, DH is planning to sleep on the couch because of the drinking-snoring thing...

goodnight!
