Amberjee · 06/11/2007 15:56

sounds fun. though i forgot it would have to be weekend huh? find it tough to do stuff on weekends, so busy and particulary booked up before we go OS in december .... aiii. is coming about so fast!

charliemama · 06/11/2007 15:59

Everyone is very chatty again

Roro: As an infant teacher I have perfected the art of reading abook out loud whilst thinking about something completely different. I hope your serious expression fooled your boss.

Beal: Be warned I conceived 2 & 3 whilst going through a lets just see what happens stage. They were both planned but were conceived rather sooner than originally anticipated!

Same old same old here on the sleep front. Last night was every 2-3 hours. (sleepy emoticon)

Hello to everyone else I hope you are all happy and well.

RoRoMommy · 06/11/2007 16:29

Well, if everyone else is free during the week, I might be feeling a bit of a cold, [cough, cough] coming on...

tibsy · 06/11/2007 16:54

hey charlie!! nice to 'see' you although for the wakings.

wish i could join you all but too far

EffiePerine · 06/11/2007 16:56

I'd be up for meeting one weekend, but not at the moment as have a real cough

am croaking at everyone and impressing them with my work ethic, though in reality it's easier coughing at my desk with a coffee machine next door than running round after a toddler! Am off tomorrow.

RoRoMommy · 06/11/2007 16:59

CM, sorry about your night...it must be so much harder with three...THREE! Wow. And, like you, we "decided to conceive" at about the EXACT same moment we actually did.

Tibs! that you're too far...next meet up should be a camping trip somewhere in between...

IT'S FIVE TIME TO GO! [flames erupt from cuffs of trousers]

RoRoMommy · 06/11/2007 17:00

Oh, and Effie, sorry about your cough! Try to get some rest tomorrow...

Amberjee · 06/11/2007 17:16

RoRo, that's the way! I hear there are some nasty colds going around london offices ...

chibi · 06/11/2007 19:05

eeeee....DD is down in her new cotbed in her own room for the 1st time ever, wish me luck!

skirmish · 06/11/2007 20:05

busy day in here again

i've managed to stay away most of the day and have started packing the hospital bag (now i remember going thru a lot of maternity pads after but just how many will i need?!)

good night here, early morning, ds up at 6 and grumpy with it - i blame teeth as he was much better after some calpol...when do the molars start to come thru?

beal - be warned on the bf contraceptive - you could end up with a year age gap like me

skirmish · 06/11/2007 20:06

good luck chibi - i found ds slept much better once he was in his own cot/room, plus, you don't need to creep around trying to be too quiet!

RoRoMommy · 06/11/2007 21:45

Good luck chibi, let us know how it goes...it might be the way of our future...

Skirmish, we're still working on the front teeth so I am afraid I don't know when the pleasure of molars will hit, but it doesn't sound like a bad night aside from the crankiness! As for the maternity pads, I'd go with "a lot", if I remember correctly. Good luck packing the bag, how exciting!

Amber, especially since I've been doing work since after DS went to sleep, most def feel a cough coming on

"See" you all in the morning! Here's to lots of rest. (((hugs)))

Amberjee · 06/11/2007 22:16

chibi, hope it works out tonight (and every night...)
we moved ds at about 5 months and it did drop the night wakings a bit as i think he was easily disturbd by our movements.

tibsy · 06/11/2007 22:45

chibi - good luck for tonight my darling. am hoping lo is getting some seriously sleepy vibes [smiles]

skirmish - i cant believe it, so soon. you must be so excited!! yay for your good night, but for your grumpy, early start. hope you get a lie in tomorrow. dd only recently started with molars in the last couple of weeks and shes 14mths, but theyre all different

EP youre feeling rotten. hope you manage to get some rest tomorrow

roro - a midpoint camp out sounds fab

right, i'm off up the wooden hill, a goodnight to you all. hoping its a restful one

RoRoMommy · 07/11/2007 05:32

just put me out of my misery.

ds to bed at 730
me to bed at 10
ds feed at 10
unsettled until 1
feed at 3
nappy change at 430
and tried to settle/feed back to sleep, but no

AND milk off, so no cereal
no butter, so no toast

AND last night sucked b/c dh yelled at me about the nanny for thirty minutes AND i had to work until 10 AND i suck at my job after 2pm b/c too tired.

cannot go on like this. ds is v cute this momrning, tho.

chibi · 07/11/2007 07:42

oh RoRo that bites. Our dc are v lucky that they're cute, it's saved this one no end of times

My status report:
lo in bed at 7
Awake at 9 for 1 hour for drama (real howly drama). Dh sorted this whilst I wore earplugs, I kid you not. He left her in the cot but kept holding her on her side, her preferred position, + stroking her back.

Awake at 3:30 for feed +straight back to sleep until 6:30ish

We are not going to get too excited (yeah right!) but if nothing else we both feel recharged + ready to cope.

Hope there were some other good nights out there.

bealcain · 07/11/2007 07:44

roro - big hugs coming your way hun. sorry didn't know where u were lol!

Tamdin · 07/11/2007 08:35

8-8

RoRoMommy · 07/11/2007 08:45

I am considering ordering a cot today. Someone please tell me what to do! I am so tired that when feeding DS my milk ejection reflex wouldn't go, so my boobs are incredibly full. Jesus.

I am nearing desperation. Please help!

Sorry to sound so pathetic, but seriously.

Chibi, good work, you give me hope! Good on DH for handling so well. Beal and Tibs, for your nights, as well.

DS is up. One more cuddle before I rush into a cab.

RoRoMommy · 07/11/2007 08:48

Grin Envy Grin

tibsy · 07/11/2007 09:04

Tam nuff said!!!!

roro - poor you amber's your gal re. the bfing...if youre planning on getting a cot, you may need to have dh on board too (like chibi ) to take on some of the settling. a friend of mines dp used to bring the bubs to her for a feed, then after she'd bf, would settle the lo just a suggestion, feel free to ignore!! ((((hugs)))) chin up my darling

Tamdin · 07/11/2007 09:19

lol just wanted prize for shortest post as amber beat me to the last post on previous thread

tibs another goo dnight for you and no bf until 6ish that's brill

chibi well done dh for have the will power to deal with dd's waking. glad you feel bit mroe rested

Roro we've all been there. we do have acot but ds has only ever stayed init for first part of night (say until 12) then he came in with us for the rest. we now put him to bed in our bed and e sleeps all night.
it's been very hard at times but i'm so glad now that we stuck with our beliefs about sleep training.

well done beal's ds for 9-4

RoRoMommy · 07/11/2007 09:31

Thanks, Tibs.

Tam, how big is your bed? Does DS roll around and shift throughout the night? How do you sleep through that? I must have the wiggliest child on the planet. It seems to unsettle him that I am next to him because otherwise why would he sleep from 7:30pm until we come to bed, without a peep?

Am at work now, feeling v. low. My boobs are all messed up, too. Just pumped 60 ml from left and 100 ml from right...is that normal? Right boob still feels full. I'll save that for the breast and bottle feeding thread, sorry.

Tamdin · 07/11/2007 09:35

roro i spent at least 6 months clinging to the edge of our bed while ds spawled out in the middle. (6-12 months he was most restless)
is your ds crawling yet?
i found when ds started to crawl and then walk his sleep was much deeper and he moved less. now at 21 months he sleeps like a stone.mouth hanging open the works!
there's no doubt co-sleeping takes a while to get used to and it's def not for everyone but for us it has worked well (overtime)
