Hi all!
I was just wondering if anyone was interested in joining in on a thread filled with fun/light hearted/positive stuff that we can add to and read during the dreaded night feeds?!
My little one is 4 weeks and I'm finding myself dreading the night times due to the 3 hourly feeds. Sometimes I find myself scrolling on my phone whilst I wait for him to settle and I thought it might be nice to have somewhere to chat to people in the same boat!
I was thinking it could be funny pictures/ quotes/ stories/ positive affirmations and a place to ask questions if needed?
I'll start off with a funny picture ☺️

I have a 2 week old and just about getting used to the sleep deprivation! It took until 2 nights ago to get him to sleep in his bassinet - turns out swaddling is my friend! He's up every 2.5 hours for a feed but some of those I have to wake him for which feels so counter intuitive as it takes at least an hour to get him back to sleep again

I tend to scroll aimlessly through stuff on my phone, came across this - some good stuff in here to make you smile (even at 3am!!)

@ButterflyOfFreedom That looks like a great fb page to scroll through! ☺️
How's everyone's nights going?

I’ve had a pretty good night. My 5 week old DD was with my DH until midnight, then after he brought her up she slept until 4am. I’m trying to resettle her now, and hoping she sleeps until 7/8am.

It’s so up and down though. Yesterday was an ‘up every hour’ night.

How’s everyone else?

This made me chuckle 😂 Very true!
Good luck tonight all!

Not a good one here... 7 week old slept 7-10.30, then until 12, 1, 2,4 now from 5.30 he’s been asleep on me!!

Any advice on how to stop him snacking at night feeds. Feel he doesn’t fill up, as iOS done in 5 mins and has fallen asleep!

Needallthesleep · 19/11/2020 06:40

@Needmoresleep123 mine is the same. I have to wake her up fully at each feed by changing her nappy. I’m also a bit mean and leave her feed as long as I possibly can so she’s more hungry.

Given his age he may also be going through a growth spurt if that amount of times awake is unusual??

I had an ok night with my 5 week old. She ate non stop until midnight (luckily my husband had her so I could sleep!), then was up at 3 and 6.30. Definitely growth spurt here with the evening cluster feeding!

Needmoresleep123 · 19/11/2020 07:02

Thanks @needallthesleep. Hoping it’s just a growth spurt.
Bloody knackered!
4year old went 4 hrs between feeds straight away when she was a newborn so all new here.

Toddler slept unexpectedly well this evening, so that at midnight, i got my husband to check in on her, because the baby camera was wrong and I was worried she was dead, as she was so quiet!

It's nearly 3am now though and I've been trying to get her back down for about 45 mins so far, so normal service has been resumed ;-)

Tbf, things are better here than they were. AJ average night now has a resettle in the evening, a midnight feed, and a wake up in the middle of the night (takes about 60-90 mins to get her back down), but I'm getting a couple of 3vhour blocks
Sometimes I'll have a worse night, where I see every hour, and sometimes (most rare but not that rare any more) I'll get a block of 6hrs. So that's headed in the right direction, and I'll be glad if that for as long as it lasts. I'm not going to presume that it'll keep on improving, or even stay as it is, as I've been in this game long enough now, but I can hope I guess.
