DS is 2yrs 6 months. Has bottle of milk in his room with me or DH, then Goes to bed around 6:30pm. He’s in a cot, and in a sleeping bag. Doesn’t always go straight to sleep. Sometimes wakes in the night but not often.
-what time does yours go down?
-do they have milk from a bottle?
-in a cot or bed?
-sleep bag or duvet?

I’m curious, appreciate any answers, not here for judgement or criticism x

Mine was 2 in December so around the same age.
At the moment we’re on an 8-8 schedule because it suits us better in lockdown.
Normally though she does
7am I wake her up
7.30am breakfast
10am fruit snack
12.30pm lunch (hot meal)
1.15 - 2.45pm nap
3pm snack like rice cakes or biscuits
5.45pm dinner (hot meal)
6.15pm bath
6.45pm sippy cup milk
7pm bed.

GenevaMaybe · 03/05/2020 20:08

Also she’s in a cot with sleeping bag

Mummyme87 · 03/05/2020 20:11

My DS is 2yr 3m. He has a breastfeed at bedtime in bed then goes to sleep (when I’m here, if work just a cuddle from OH then he sits on his bed and he goes to sleep.
He does wake in the night, comes into our bed at some point between 1-3 normally. He wakes around 6.30-7am. He usually naps around 12 for 1.5-2hrs

Bringonspring · 03/05/2020 20:12

My DS had a sleeping bag and a cot at that age, he still felt very much a toddler, he didn’t have milk though (prepare yourself for a wrath of lectures on a bottle of milk pre bedtime and impact if teeth)

My DD is at the same age though, rejected sleeping bags from about 18 months and is also in a big girls bed.

GenevaMaybe · 03/05/2020 20:13

Mine occasionally wakes in the night and if she does I give her water and put her straight back to bed unless she’s sick. Then I do calpol and cuddles and singing and watching peppa or whatever it takes to get her back to sleep and comfortable.

Bringonspring · 03/05/2020 20:14

Oh my 2 year old goes to sleep at 7.30pm but like to get up about 6.30am

She occasionally wakes but a hug sends her back to sleep

DS is 2yrs 6 months as well!

At 6:30 him, his older and younger sister get plopped in the bath. Then me or my husband read to him in his bed, lights out, soothing music on. He’s in a cot bed... we removed the side in February, and he rejected his sleeping bag early, around 15 months. So it’s a light duvet and a polar blanket at the end of the bed in case he wants to “burrow”.
He doesn’t always go straight to sleep either. If he’s cat napped in the day it can result in 20+ get-ups between 7 and 8.30.
Since he’s been put into his own room (sharing with his sisters was all too exciting) that amount of get ups is RARE.
He sleeps 11hours almost to the letter. If he’s asleep at 7:15, we know we will he up 6:15 the next morning. However a late settle (the worst ever was 9pm after bed at 6.30, 50+ get ups) always results in an early wake, around 5:15 which is when his baby sister has a whinge. He can hear it and it can be enough to wake him.

Typically though:
No bottle before bed
One story
Lights out
One or two get ups
Snoring by 8.

My 2 year, 3 month old:
Up around 6, 6.30.
Naps 10ish for an hour ish.
Sleeps around 7pm in a bed with duvet. Has milk before bed from a sippy cup, but only water after teeth cleaning.
Generally sleeps through unless unwell or teething.

sylbunny · 03/05/2020 20:17

My daughter was 2 in March.

She goes in her room with me at 7.30. Not asleep till 8 usually. This varies and sometimes she's asleep by 7.30 but she always wakes up 11 hours after she falls asleep.

Still breastfed in the morning at night but doesn't breastfeed to sleep

In a cot bed with the sides on still.

Sleeping bag. I'll probably switch to a duvet in the winter. She doesn't have a pillow yet

Lazydaisydaydream · 03/05/2020 20:19

My son just turned two. He sleeps in a toddler bed (converted from his cot about six months ago). We start bedtime about 7, he has a bath every other night, then one of us reads him two stories while he has a cup of oat milk from a munchkin 360 cup (recently changed when I finished breastfeeding him). We then turn the light out and he has white noise on and I sit and hold his hand for about 10/15 minutes until he's asleep. He sleeps through most of the time, sometimes wakes up because his cover has fallen off or he's lost his doggy etc. He comes into our room when he wakes up in the morning, usually between 6 and 7.

I'm 5 months pregnant and trying to get away from having to sit with him until he's asleep, but it's taking a while Smile

2 years 6months:

When at nursery bed at 7- currently bed at 8 (we extended a day nap to give us a break in the day)
Sleeps in a cot
Has milk before teeth clean and bed, in a bottle
Sleeps in pyjamas with a quilt

angelopal · 03/05/2020 20:21

Mine is 2.5. He has a cup of milk about 6.45 in his room with bedtime stories. Teeth brushed after. He was in a sleeping bag until a couple of days ago when we switched to a duvet. He kept taking the sleeping bag off. He is in a corner that is still set as a cot.

He sleeps through normally until about 6. But it took until he was almost 2 before that happened.

DaisyChainsForever · 03/05/2020 20:21

My DS is 2.8. Goes up at 7pm, has a bottle of milk, then pretty much goes straight to sleep. Is in a toddler bed, with toddler duvet & blanket on top. Wakes up at 6:15 every morning.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 03/05/2020 20:22

My LG just turned two, she wakes about 6.30ish, nap around 11 for 1.5hrs, she has her bath around 6 and then downstairs for milk around 6.45, bed at 7.30. She is in a bed with a duvet

Louise0701 · 03/05/2020 20:24

Hi, my son was 2 in December.
He has milk in a bottle; both before bed around 7pm after his bath and before his afternoon nap around 12ish. Naps for 2-3 hours during the day and then sleeps until around 6.30am.
He was in a cot but managed to climb out so he’s now in a toddler bed. I tuck him in, pass him his bottle and close his door to. He nods off halfway through his milk.

Louise0701 · 03/05/2020 20:24

Oh and he has a duvet. Daytime nap also in bed.

pinguwings · 03/05/2020 20:26

2yrs 6months.
No milk.
Duvet and pillow (and an increasing collection of soft toys)
Toddler bed, no sides.
Goes to sleep about 7pm and sleeps through till 6.15. Occasionally she'll wake but settles quickly when I pop in.
Chats herself to sleep.

She was an awful sleeper until she was 2. Now I feel incredibly lucky but it was all developmental.

No naps though ☹️I miss her napping.

bloodywhitecat · 03/05/2020 20:26

My foster child came to us at 2yr 6 months so I will base my answers on what happened when they first came

-what time does yours go down? 6.30, sleeps until 6-6.30 but for the first few months woke every 60-90 minutes through the night.
-do they have milk from a bottle? No, a cup
-in a cot or bed? A toddler bed.
-sleep bag or duvet? Duvet. I didn't know toddler sleeping bags were a thing until they had been with us a while as my kids are both adults and sleeping bags didn't exist when they were babies.

Toddler now 3 and a bit, goes to bed at 6.45 is asleep by 7 most nights. Sleeps through until 6.30am and then plays quietly in their room until we get up.

CaryStoppins · 03/05/2020 20:27

2 years 8 months:

Bedtime about 8pm
In a single bed with a pillow and duvet
Couple of stories in bed then sleep
Naps 1.30-3pm
Wakes about 7.30am

Oly4 · 03/05/2020 20:28

2years 6 months, proper bed with a duvet but no pillow yet.
Has milk before bed at 8pm. Wakes two or three times a night but settles when we go in. Up around 6.30/7

smeerf · 03/05/2020 20:30

26 months, goes to bed at 7.30 and I can leave the room by 8.30 (when he's fully asleep). I used to be able to just put him to bed and go downstairs but since potty training he refuses to stay in bed unless I wait. 39 weeks pregnant so no energy to work on fixing this right now!

He sleeps in his cotbed with the side off with a pillow and duvet. No bottles since 12 months because of the teeth thing. Stopped breastfeeding at 19 months and since then he only has a cup of cow's milk with meals.

Never wakes at night anymore. Wakes for the day at 7, plays in his room till the groclock changes at 7.30 and I come get him. If he needs the potty, he takes his trousers and nighttime pull up off to do so - this is a very recent development and gives me an extra 30 mins in bed!

Nicecupofcoco · 03/05/2020 20:31

I have a 2.6 year old.
In a toddler bed!
Has a duvet and pillow.
Has a cup of warm milk in a sippy cup before bed.
Story in bed.
Goes down about 7.30pm.
Usually sleeps through unless poorly.
Usually wakes between 6-7 am.
Naps on his bed for an hour after lunch!

Our son was 2 in August so a couple of months older.

He does "teeth and pjs" at 06.30, we do quiet time downstairs where he has snuggles, supper and a glass of milk on the sofa with me and a book or 2

He then goes up and does "teeth, toilet and bed" and daddy does 20 mins reading, then he's left in his room. He has a bed as he needs to get out to go for a wee in the night, (so we can't use a sleeping bag either)

He has a duvet but never keeps it on, so he has a vest under PJs and socks on ( he throws them off if he's too hot)

He talks through the night himself, he looks like he's still asleep so we leave him to it, although if he was really upset we would go in to confirm him obviously.

Are you worried about something ?

ShyTown · 03/05/2020 20:32

2 years 10 months but routine has been the same since she turned 2:
-Milk in a cup before teeth
-Sleeps 7-7, typically doesn’t wake unless unwell
-Goes to sleep on her own, we read a story then say goodnight and leave her to it
-Toddler bed with guard, duvet and pillow.
-Also has a 2 hour nap after lunch, in her bed
