Is this the 4 month regression?

Hi all, looking for a bit of advice as I'm exhausted atm! Got a 4 month old; up to about a week ago she had a great sleeping pattern, sleeping from about 11pm-7/8am. For the last week however it's like she's been cluster feeding; wakes as soon as I put her into her cot, sometimes needs feeding back to sleep others she falls asleep as soon as I pick her back up. I've tried leaving her for a couple of minutes to see if she settles, I've tried white noise and music, none of these work. Husband can sometimes sooth her while in the cot, but not always. She's currently asleep on me, having just woken from being put in the cot. I'm varying the times I'm rocking her to sleep between 5 minutes and 30 minutes. Does anyone have any advice? Husband works lots of hours and drives long distances in the week, so want to find a way to deal with this to make this next week more bearable! If no advice, is anyone else at least as sleep deprived as me and wants company? :D

Agree - there's no respite in the day as she only naps when held! Currently rocking to sleep after getting an hour myself...

Think we've hit this wonderful phase Confused DD is only 16 weeks but was 10 days late. Last few nights she just will not fall asleep! She will settle after feeding but awake again in no less than 15 mins. Last night after this happening 5 times I gave up and brought her downstairs and she was awake until midnight! She wasn't upset, quite the opposite, smiling and happy... eventually settled in our bed. She has not slept in the cot at all last few days, only in the bed, which obviously means if we want her to get a decent nights sleep I have to go to bed with her!

This thread scares me as I have a 10 week old who's sleep patterns are all over the place but generally she'll do 11-2 and then be awake every hour unless she sleeps on me. I can't imagine her doing a good nights sleep in her crib, and to know there's a regression (not sure it can get much worse) in about 6 weeks time makes me want to cry Confused

@gdmpmtpp enjoy the next 6 weeks! I've been up pretty much every hour! Wink

Oh wow I thought sleep regression was a myth! But here I am with a 5 month old doing the exact same thing and has for a long time now! Feels like its never going to end !! I am so exhausted and is making me very sensitive

WindFlower92 · 21/11/2019 13:29

@Shauna044 I keep getting told it's a myth by my parents and in-laws; very frustrating!

@WindFlower92 my mum is exactly the same. Being a first time mum they know best lol. But I'm just hopeful there is a reason for it and it will get better
