Don't hate me - my toddler likes lying in....

My ds (2 in a few weeks) seems to have become partial to a lie-in - 9am today. More often 8ish but sometimes 8.30.

I know I am ridiculously lucky! Is there any reason I should wake him up earlier - he still goes to sleep again at 1pm for a while although he is getting harder to settle at bedtime and now only goes to sleep at 8.

Is there any downside to this or should I just enjoy it?

Herbiemum- my post was a little tongue in cheek as I know that even that time isn't so bad. And it was nursery day today so he needed to be up by 7.30 anyway.

Weird isn't it how some kids just sleep totally different times no matter what. I wonder if they will all swap as teenagers and all these early risers will be lying in til lunchtime!?

My dream is not to win the lottery but for my dses to sleep in until 6 every day. We usually have anything from 4.30 til 5.30. Every single bloody day.

Boo64 - my boys won't be lying in til lunchtime as teenagers - I'll be in their rooms vacuuming and singing loudly. Revenge will be sweet...

(Actually DP has just ruined that particular dream and reminded me how smelly and revolting teenage boys bedrooms are. He reckons I won't want to set foot in there.)

So it's back to dreaming about a 6.20am sleep-in...
