Help! 8 week old keeps rolling onto his side to sleep

Please if anyone can help I’d be so grateful, I’m barely sleeping at night. My 8 week old keeps rolling onto his side when he sleeps, he’s in a Cozee co sleeper and his face ends up against the side lip that butts up against my mattress. My health visitor said it’s safe as long as he can roll back to his back, but he can’t! I’ve been tucking him in tight which has helped to pin him down until now. I’ve not had a newborn for 10 years I can’t think what to do Sad I’m constantly rolling him back all night so neither of us are sleeping well

As others have said as long as you lay baby on their back to sleep and then they roll on their side themselves you don't need to keep rolling them back. This is NHS advice I think, you might want to check their website. Babies usually sleep for longer and better on their sides so you might get more sleep!
I don't really know what you mean about her face being on the side lip? What material is it made from? if it's designed for newborns it should be safe? Or is her face against your mattress? Maybe you need to adjust the Cozee co sleeper or use a moses basket for some peace of mind? My daughter used to mash her face against the side of the moses basket by 3 months old but it's all made of breathable fabric so she was safe enough.
Everything is so scary at this age but soon she will be rolling back and forth and it won't matter. Good luck!

I am having the same issue with the tilt. A few times I have found my baby rolled to the side (always the same side) yet he is only 8weeks and can not roll, therefore can not roll himself back.
Last night I woke, checked on him and he was so far over with his face pressed against the material part of the mesh side! I instantly grabbed him out the cot. Thank goodness I woke up as i really don’t see how he would be able to breathe. Now at 8 weeks old I am going to remove him from this crib as I feel it’s so dangerous.

I realise the post was wrote in May but I just wanted to share my experience with this crib for others having the same problem x

mummabubs · 21/10/2018 08:46

@Warriers2 , when did you buy your CoZee? I contacted them over Facebook and they sent out a new one from their "improved batch". Unfortunately my DS is too big to try in it now so we'll have to hope it's better for child number 2 when we decide to go there, but I have to say from feeling it the newer one does seem more stable then the first 2 we were sent. Their customer service on Facebook was helpful but it's frustrating that the director when I spoke with him said this isn't a big problem when there do seem to be people across several forums and I know in real life who've all had this same issue! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Hope it gets resolved for you soon xx

We bought it back in May, baby was born in August. A lot of money spent just to be not used as he is now in his downstairs Moses basket which we have brought upstairs. Did you contact tutti bambini or mothercare x

@mummabubs

I also have this crib. My baby kept ending up squished against the dropped side, at first I thought it was because the sheets were too small for the mattress so it was making it curl up at one end, but have now realised it's the crib itself. Last night I popped a folded blanket under one side of the mattress and baby actually stayed in the middle of the crib all night!

Not impressed as it's not cheap! After reading this thread I have emailed customer services. Bought the crib in may (although only used since baby was born in August) so no sure if newer ones will be any different? Will have to see what they say (if they respond)

Warriers2 · 22/10/2018 14:50

@heidihii did you get a response? Iv contacted mothercare as this is where I purchased it from, still waiting a reply. Like you say too expensive to have a fault. I’m not currently using mine, but I bought it with intent to use as a travel cot also x

I've just had a reply from tutti bambini offering to replace the crib - this is what they said-

Thank you for your message regarding your CoZee crib – I am sorry that you seem to be having an issue with your crib.
I have heard back from our Quality teem & they advised that although the issue you have reported is not a manufacturing fault and is purely to allow movement of the height adjuster to go up and down, I can confirm that we do have new stock where the specification has been slightly changed to the product in order to improve the functionality of the height adjuster even more for our customers.
If it would make you feel more comfortable with the product, I am happy to offer to exchange the crib over for you & then we can collect your original crib.
If this is suitable then please let me know when you purchased the crib, what colour version you have & please also confirm if you have the box to put the original crib in for collection, thanks.

@Warriers2 I would email tutti bambini directly. I just went on the contact us page on their website and filled the form in

mummabubs · 23/10/2018 20:02

Yeah @Warriers2 , contact Tutti directly- Mothercare customer services were completely useless for us. The 'new' ones do seem better. I personally find it frustrating that depending on who you speak to you get a different response as to whether this is a known issue or not- even the director acknowledged to me that they know about this!
