Ive been here before and 'know' some of you lovely ladies already. Its been a while and theres so many long threads its impossible to read through them all. Basically I co-sleep with dd of 7 months and always have - she is bf to sleep and also for day naps.

I have decided its time to get it sorted once and for all but cant decide how. Hate the idea of CC but dont know how else to get it sorted and if i did do CC what are the finer details (ie do you go in every few minutes, pick them up - how does it work?). I have the NCSS book and have heard of other methods. I am wanting to move dd into her cot in her own room but know this is quite a change to what shes used to. Any advice would be great or simply hearing what has worked for you - would love to hear from ladies on the 'Sleep is for the Weak' thread as I was an active 'poster' a few months ago

cruisemum - you had the same situation as me - hows it going?

lovefamily - that is great . it takes time and perseverence on both your parts. your dd is doing realy well to have got the hang of it so soon! ds still grizzles at bedtime and nap time but it is never 'crying ' and he does go to sleep within 3 - 10mins most often.
last night he slept for 11 hours! I feel shattered beyond belief though as i am not used to it and i wake around 4.30 expecting him to too

I know what you mean cruisemum/crossed wires. When ds first slept all evening, I sat there waiting nervously for him to wake up!

Lovefamily - I'm glad things are starting to get better. It's really worth it when it happens!

Night 3 went wellish - still quite a while crying at first and a few wakings up till about 11pm but then all way through to 8am. Longest yet and without a feed again so looking up. The only trouble is I wake in the morning actually worrying cause i havent heard her and end up rushing in to see if shes alright - im not the only one that does this sort of thing am i?

Noticed she gets a little cranky when i put her down on floor or wherever more so than usual but suppose this is price to pay. the not night feeding thing has thrown the day food/bf out somewhat but nevermind.

Its got to be soo much better/good for her now - getting proper sleep etc.

Glad it's still going well, lovefamily. I'm away for the week from tomorrow, but hope things continue to go well for you.

last two nights have not been good - she has just cried and cried for an hour or so twice a night - so much so shes very hoarse! Think shes teething as has not been herself today, has red red cheeks, runny nose, slight cough (perhaps down to sore throat from crying) and has slight temp and has been quiet etc. So... did not do it today - have given her calprofen for temp and teethy pain, fed her in room, layed her in cot and leant over cuddling her to sleep. Felt I could not possibly do cc while she is teething/poorly but overall since the start i do still feel mass progress has been made - she does not need to suck to sleep which is good - I can take the rest slowly now and feel confident it can be dealt with
