What age did your baby start sleeping through?

Hi all
My twins are 5 months old, go down at around 7pm and feed at around 11pm and 3am. They don't seem to be giving any indication that they are even nearly ready drop that 3am feed.
I know all babies are different but out of curiosity, when did your baby start sleeping through?
Thanks :)

My daughter has only slept through a few times, and the first time was at 7 months. Once we started weaning at 6 months it helped us to drop feeds and subsequently she sleeps better.

Youngest DS started sleeping through over Christmas. He’s 18 months old, but we’ve had a few wobbles since then.

DS1 6 months. DS2 4 months (with an 11pm dream feed), 5 months without. DD 7 months.

Only DS2 would accept a dream feed.

For 2 days in a row now DD 6 months has slept 11-7. I'm afraid to get used to it! Before it was feed at 7pm, 11, 4, 7am.

My boys all started sleeping through at 10 - 12 weeks. From about 10 until 6. My 3rd ds has been sleeping through since 8 weeks. But once they're up, they're up. Normally allow for them to be up for an hour after their feed then lay them down to relax in their crib, with a cot mobile on. I also find darkness helps! It takes a while and it must be so hard with two! Every child is different! I also found using Johnsons bed time moisturiser or wipes with the lavender before their first bed time comes in handy, as they will associate the smell with sleep, so if they aren't going back down at three, misturise them or wipe them with the wipes and they associate it with calm and sleeping!

18 months.

champagneplanet · 25/01/2018 08:33

6 weeks both of them (yes I know i'm very lucky) but they always (still do) fill up during the daytime so felt sometimes like I was constantly feeding them.

Weaning may help as they'll be that much fuller. With DD1 I used to give her a supper before bed which she loved and really settled her.

Bobbybobbins · 25/01/2018 08:35

18 months for both of mine

SleveMcDichael · 25/01/2018 08:37

11 weeks. 10 hours a night till she was 7 months. Then she started waking up again. Still waiting for her to start sleeping through again at 16 months!

IfYouDontImagineNothingHappens · 25/01/2018 08:39

Reliably- sometimes we'd go for months with good nights, sometimes months of bad nights. Reliably around 2.5 years but still need reassurance sometimes during the night. Don't worry- you just kind of roll with it and get used to it!

Commuterface · 25/01/2018 08:43

DD1 at 4 months. DD2 at 3 (as in 3 YEARS old!) I have no idea how I functioned for those 3 years (I was also working 3 days a week). Tiredness just became part of who I was.

She is 4 now and great but God those three years were tough.

Raaraathequietlion · 25/01/2018 08:46

DC1 - 14 months
DTs - 7 months reliably, although they'd occasionally done it from 4 months.

marcheauxfleurs · 25/01/2018 08:48

My Lo was sleeping through from about 6 weeks. Now he's 3 and wakes up several times a night Blush

DC1 12 weeks, from 6pm until 6am, entirely of her own accord.

DC2 is one next week and he sleeps through from 6pm until 5am maybe 3 days a week.

I've done the exact same with both of them in terms of feeding, bedtime routine, etc..

muffmuff · 25/01/2018 08:54

Ds1 around 5!
Ds2 6 weeks

MiniTheMinx · 25/01/2018 08:54

Both boys slept through from 11 weeks. The first was up all day and wouldn't nap at all. I had to hold him, and entertain him from 7 til 11pm every day. DS2 was just a sleepy content chilled baby. He fed every four hours, napped, had several waking hours where he was still happy to be left, by 6 months he would happily sit on the floor playing and looking around without much attention. DS1 on the other hand demanded my total attention in all his waking hours until he was 4 years old. Getting sleep is great, but with DS1 I couldn't even get a coffee or pick up the phone!

lightcola · 25/01/2018 09:10

First was 4 months old. Second is now 14 months old and I’m still waiting.

DD1 was about 10 months, with a blip at about a year where she refused to sleep for about a week.

DD2 was sleeping midnight to 7am at 9 weeks. I thought it was amazing. And then her dairy allergy raised its ugly head and she woke up to 8 times a night until she was 2. And still (at 6!) is more likely than not to wake at least once a night...!

AutumnGlitterBall · 25/01/2018 09:17

December there when he was fourteen months. Very occasional nights before but mostly we had at least one wake up between ten and six, more if teething. He also only ever catnapped for three or four half hours during the day and that seems to have sorted itself out as well recently to fewer but longer sleeps.
