What age did your baby start sleeping through?

Hi all
My twins are 5 months old, go down at around 7pm and feed at around 11pm and 3am. They don't seem to be giving any indication that they are even nearly ready drop that 3am feed.
I know all babies are different but out of curiosity, when did your baby start sleeping through?
Thanks :)

From 6-8 weeks I woke them at 1130-midnight, fed them then they would go through until morning
I stopped that at 4 months and they would do straight 12 hours asleep

NotReadyToMove · 25/01/2018 09:20

Dc1 dropped the 11.00pm feed around 3 months and THEN the 3~5.00am.

Dc2..... when he was over a year old? And still never slept through until he was over 2yo....

Wow! I can’t believe the differences between all these answers! I guess I’ll just wait it out, see what happens and hope it’s sooner rather than later. Thanks everyone :)

4 weeks and 6 weeks.
They were bottle fed by that point.
We've had loads of points of them not sleeping through since though. 4yr old DD has just had a 1 year stretch of waking up 5/6 times a night so we didn't get away with it completely!

My 5 month old twins have been sleeping through for the last couple of months. My first born didn't until he was nearly 2

user1474652148 · 25/01/2018 10:31

Consistently - 3years

HeyMicky · 25/01/2018 10:31

Both of mine dropped the 3am feed at 7 months and the 10/11 dream feed at 10 months. Pretty textbook but it wasn't anything I did

Puppymouse · 25/01/2018 10:33

DD slept through at 5 months - just at the time I stopped EBF and moved her to formula. Coincidence maybe I don't know. She is a brilliant sleeper at night though so she probably isn't normal!

Badgoushk · 25/01/2018 10:38

DD1 16 months (for 4 weeks) and then not again until 28 months. Now sleeps through most nights aged 4.

DD2 is 2yrs 3 months. Sleeps through about 40% of the time. First time aged about 2.

silkpyjamasallday · 25/01/2018 11:53

16 month old DD slept through two nights in a row at 11 months, it has yet to be repeated. Since Christmas she has been up as many times in the night as a particularly cranky newborn.

LunchBoxPolice · 25/01/2018 12:56

Ds is 4 and sometimes sleeps through and sometimes wakes repeatedly.

Mrsjellybum · 25/01/2018 13:20

My first daughter was 2 1/2 Years old
My second daughter was 5 weeks.

Aged my first (bf) I combination fed with second although I think it would have worked the same no matter what I did.

Unfortunately I just think it’s in there nature and they will sleep through when they are ready.

earlylifecrisis · 25/01/2018 13:22

Dd 3 months DS 8 months

Jessikita · 25/01/2018 17:31

DD was 7 weeks (Bed at 7.30pm with 10pm dream feed) got up about 7am all night at 8 months.

DS was 9 weeks, as above, except did have quite a few 5.30am/6am wake up through to about 12 weeks.

I did the Gina Ford routine from 6 weeks (just feeding and sleeping - adapted it to suit slightly as DD and DS were very different with naps) but I was bottle feeding so that a lot easier to implement rather than breast feeding.

Don’t give me any hate. They were never once left to “cry it out” or cry that’s a huge misconception of her book.

JugglingMuggle · 26/01/2018 07:45

Same here jessikita. My first was miserable when we tried on demand feeding and sleeping. So at 3 months we tried an adapted Gina ford routine (no crying) and everyone was so much happier. By 4 months baby was sleeping though 7-6 with no feed. So did similar routine from beginning with second child and she was sleeping 7-7 with no feeds by 3 months old. They both love their beds still, years later. Some babies hate it but some babies just love routine and it worked for us!

whichwayisout · 26/01/2018 07:52

1st and 3rd around 8-10 weeks.

2nd slept great at first then changed, thankfully loves her sleep now.

Frazzled2207 · 26/01/2018 07:57

Ds1 for the first time at 8months.
Consistently at 2years.

Ds2 is now 2.8 and sleeps through maybe 50% of the time. However it's not as bad as it sounds, from about 6 months he'd wake once and we'd bring him into bed with us at which point he'd re-settle pretty quickly. (Following safe co-sleeping guidelines of course).

Mrsknackered · 26/01/2018 07:59

3 months and 13 months

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 26/01/2018 08:00

Ds is 4 years and has slept through about 6 times. The first was when he was about 3.5

userabcname · 26/01/2018 08:01

DS is 7.5 months and still waiting....I think it's a long way off yet...

Aj2612 · 26/01/2018 08:03

Baby boy is 4.5 months and slept through from 9 weeks.

brownelephant · 26/01/2018 08:04

3 months the first dc, 3 yeats the second...

Kim82 · 26/01/2018 08:07

Sleeping a good 11-12 hours without waking at all happened at this age for my dc:

Ds - 6 months
Dd1 - 5 months
Dd2 - 2.5 years
Dd3 - 17 months

FancyNewBeesly · 26/01/2018 08:12

Briefly my twins slept through the night around three months. It lasted for a week.

They're 16 months now, will let you know if it ever happens!

Toefluff12 · 26/01/2018 22:02
