i put her back to her cot countless times, she had been pulling my hair, clawing at me, sitting on my head each time she gets out of her cot. Then she got out again, and pulled my hair really hard, and i am ashame4d that i smacked her. i dont have any defence except sleep deprivation. i cannot see this problem ending till she can move into her own room.

thats pretty much what i was doing, she gets out, i put her back, but if i fall asleep for a few moments and dont realise she has gotton out again then she starts with the hair pulling etc.

The hair pulling is just a phase - a horrible one but a phase. Would getting dd2 into your room and putting dd3 in the bottom bunk under dd1 be worth a try? I really do sympathise.

grrrr, sounds just like dd when she was in with us, we had a second bedroom to chuck her in though so not sure what i'd do in your situation.

proabably swap her and dd2 around like the others suggested

Misdee - I eventually resorted to using Medised to get DS into a routine as I was at the end of my tether with lack of sleep - only for a few days but it worked and got us back to a place where we were at least able to deal with our emotions without them ruling us from being overtired and grumpy.

He can still be a bit of a bugger - as he was last night - and DH so kindly put him in bed with us - DH is off today so could have kept putting him back and sat outside his room - but no (GGGRRR) he thought it better that we all get some sleep as I have an interview today - ends up that I am the walking dead and unfortunately look it becasue I had a 2 year old booting me int he kidneys for most of the night.

i'd try to swap her with another toddler, one that sleeps and doesn't do hair-pulling.

sounds awful, misdee, you are a bloody trouper for putting up with it for so long.

Does anyone you know have a nomad travel tent or the such like? There is no WAY lo's (including my 2yo) can get out of these once they are zipped in thats them staying put for the night. Not a long term solution i am afraid, but if it was me where my sleep is concerned I 'm afraid I would have to resort to using DD's travel tent as I cant function where lack of sleep is concerned. Hope DD3 settles down for you soon x
