Am so worried about over heating. Its 28 degrees in ds room, he is wearing t shirt and nappy. I hate this heat.

shortie pj's & a nappy and it is 22 degrees in his room

Tutter · 11/06/2006 19:58

me too (worried)

he's in a sleeveless vest and a 0.5 tog sleeping bag

have put a fan in his room so i hope he's a bit mroe comfortable [sad

Tutter · 11/06/2006 19:58

(28 degrees in his room too - was 29 earlier!!)

tribpot · 11/06/2006 19:58

A nappy only. Not sure of the temp but pretty hot, I would say. Worst that can happen if he's cold is he wakes up and complains (which he didn't last night).

WigWamBam · 11/06/2006 19:58

I used to put dd in just a nappy when it was this hot, with just a sheet to cover her.

Tutter · 11/06/2006 20:00

if a baby's used to a sleeping bag, do you find they're ok without one? wonder if it would be strange for him...

mower · 11/06/2006 20:02

I thought that at first tutter, took it off first of all for naps during the day. Got his legs stuck once or twice but is fine without it now, which I am pleased about as if it gets any hotter will put with just nappy on.

DS3 sweats in bed whatever the weather(yes, even in winter with just PJ's on)so I put him to bed in a t-shirt or PJ top and then when I go up I put him in his sleeping bag.

Our house is very warm in the day but gets really cold at night so I can't really put him to bed without it.

Have a lighter/thinner one coming soon though.

beansprout · 11/06/2006 20:05

tutter - I am the same - superstitous about taking ds out of his gro bag. He just has a nappy on but is still in his bag. I can't sleep without something on me and assume it is the same for him. As I type that I realise the utter lack of logic involved in my thinking. And I have a v sweaty ds to boot Grin

Tutter · 11/06/2006 20:07

am wondering whether i should go up and try to take his vest off

last night it stayed at 28 degrees all through the night - tonight will likely be the same...

Tutter · 11/06/2006 20:09

it's now gone up to 29.... Shock

mower · 11/06/2006 20:10

I was the same as you last night tutter. Was unbutting ds sleep suit at 3am this morning as the temperature hadn't dropped.

If your ds has fan in his room at least this will keep him cooler.

my dd is 3 but has always got really sweaty at bedtime even in winter so she is now just in pull up(going onto nic nics tomorow though cos shes been so good..and might be that bit cooler!)
it 29 in her room!

EvesMama · 11/06/2006 20:11

i have also bought majicool nd have been spraying her and her room with it!..its fab!

Esmummy · 11/06/2006 20:11

DD sleeps in shorts & Tshirt PJ's. Would prefer her to sleep just in her nappy when its this hot but she takes her nappy off and that could be quite messy by the morning

Tutter · 11/06/2006 20:13

thanks mower

i just checked on him and he doesn't feel too hot - think the fan may be helping

Tutter · 11/06/2006 20:14

(have another thread about the pissing aircon unit we bought today that has made absolutely no difference - £80 wasted... Angry)

mower · 11/06/2006 20:17

Is also 29 degrees now in ds room, went up since putting fan on!! Its a really old fan though so think the motor produces heat, have turned it off now.

my ds 20months got just nappy on and will entwine himself him 3or 4 or grandmas knitted blankets when it cools down

donnie · 11/06/2006 20:20

we put dd2 ( 13 months) in a babygro with the feet cut off. Looks funny but seems to work ok.

Miaou · 11/06/2006 20:21

ds aged 10m has slept in just a nappy and a summer grobag for the past two nights, but I have put him in a vest tonight as it is slightly cooler here .

SoupDragon · 11/06/2006 20:25

At this rate, she'll be sleeping in a sling hanging from a tree at the end of the garden.

(shorty sleepsuit plus nappy. No vest.)

Nemo1977 · 11/06/2006 20:27

DD is in a vest with fan on

Piccalilli · 11/06/2006 20:30

dd also in a vest with fan on but keeps waking up as it's 28 degrees in her room - poor child looks so hot and tired.

tribpot · 11/06/2006 20:32

Should add, ds is in nowt but a nappy with the fan on. Am training him to endure arctic temperatures in case we move back to Sweden Wink Actually he's never slept in more than a baby gro and sleeping bag, even in mid-winter.
