Nappy and vest but might have to abandon the vest!

The fan is making naff all difference, all is does is move the warm air around a bit.

Munz · 11/06/2006 20:36

joey tonight has his vest/sleep suit and a v v light (no more than a sheet blanket one) althou it's raining here - think we've a storm coming and I've got blankets ready incase he gets cold. all the window's are open in the house and doors as well - we'll sleep with all up stairs open tonight.

last night was horrid/muggy so he only had a nappy and his thin blanket as it was really too hot.

in fact I think might go in and take his blanket off - seems to like being nice and warm as opposed to cold thou.

I do worry bout temp - too hot/cold. in the room it's saying 24 now, but will get colder as the night goes on.

EvesMama · 11/06/2006 20:36

LOL soupy!

Munz · 11/06/2006 20:59

SS off so vest/blanket. still 24oC

KommandantColditz · 11/06/2006 21:04

nappy - 7 weeks old.

Piggiesmum · 11/06/2006 21:06

I was thinking earlier today, I'm so glad ds is old enough to not need swaddling anymore. That's not something I'd want to do it in this heat?

trinityrhino · 12/06/2006 07:59

my 14 month old is in nappy and short sleeved vest

we've made sure that the curtains inher room are never opened and had the windows upstair open in such a way that there is a draft going through the room, when it first got hot we messed up and opened her curtains which meant it got really hot cos the sun shines right in from first thing but we've sorted that now.

It's piddling down with rain now though Grin

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 12/06/2006 08:05

put becky to bed with shorty pj's and nappy last night, went up to check her at 10am and she was sweating badly, stripped her off to just her nappy and she slept like a baby all night - and its been a while!

Jess is in vest and nappy all night, no covers. duvet is now redundant!!!

Nemo1977 · 12/06/2006 15:01

Jarmy glad R slept well...unfortunately we had the opposite...DDs room was sooo hot but she just kept waking up and screaming as if she was cold...but too worried about her over heating..sigh!

PanicPants · 12/06/2006 15:07

nappy

Piffle · 12/06/2006 15:12

dd is 3.5 wears knickers and spag strap vest and I have a fan in her room
She wakes about 4 when the air cools, I go in turn fan off and pop a sheet over her til morning

hotmama · 12/06/2006 15:16

The dd's usually wear grobags - but not in this heat! Dd1 is 20 months and wore shortie pj's last night. Dd2 (17 weeks) wore a vest - but woke me at 4.30 this morning as she was bashing her feet against her headboard.

Looking forward to it getting cooler so I can put her back in her grobag which obviously restricts her movements! Smile

Mercy · 12/06/2006 15:18

Some of your children sound way overdressed to me!

Nappy and a sheet should be fine for babies & children in these temperatures surely? except newborns probably.

Raggydoll · 12/06/2006 15:26

it was 30 laat night Shock dd (9mths) wore shorty sleepsuit, no vest and no covers. ds (2.5) had short pjs and a sheet as he likes to be 'tucked in'. fortunately its a bit cooler today but will probably still not use any covers tonight.

emmawill · 12/06/2006 15:33

My 4 month old and my 17 month old sleep in just a nappy with a sheet over them.

sandradee · 12/06/2006 15:49

I think if they are in a nappy only in this heat then there is nothing else that you can really do other than perhaps have a fan.

If the temp is 23- 24 then perhaps a nappy & 0.5 tog. It all depends on how the air also feels. You can have 23 deg and be quite "chilly" at night whilst at other times it can feel quite muggy.

Tutter · 12/06/2006 19:08

ok, this must be a record - when i went up to bath ds it was 32 in our room and 30 in his Shock. i managed to get the temps down by one degree in both rooms by opening the doors to give a through draught but, still - wow.

Munz · 12/06/2006 21:41

a lot cooler tonight here, it's 21 in the room and Joey's got his vest, nappy and a warmer blanket, (still only really a med feel one not a thick one) last night he was getting hot/cold all night when I was adding/taking away, the temp stayed around 24oc all night, hence ythe warmer blanket tonight as the air's cooler now.

sandradee · 13/06/2006 09:00

I think it's safer for them to be cooler. DS was in a nappy all night last night (room temp 25.8 deg) he did not wake omce in the night. I figure if he was cold then he would wake up and let me know.

All the guidelines say that it's more dangerous to be too hot than a little chilly.

FlameBoo · 13/06/2006 09:39

Nappy.

I produce hot children though, so he normally wears less than most children anyway...

Oh, he cuddles a blanket too.

Bozza · 13/06/2006 09:44

I have been trying to minimise what my children are wearing. DS is 5 and has been in short pjs since March with duvet. Tried to replace duvet with sheet and get him to take his top off but he was not impressed.

DD is just 2 and has been in summer grobag plus short pjs/nightie plus nappy since April. Finally persuaded her out of the grobag and to just having a sheet but she is not budging on the pjs/nightie.
