What's this about certain Mners being invited to the tenth anniversary party?

Cliquey or what?

How were people chosen? I hope everyone's name was put into a hat and a certain number chosen at random.

I suspect not.

Verity - if there are more registered members than posters then that makes the figure lower [than 250,000 - 350,000 ish], not 500,000 higher .

Guttersnipe · 14/02/2010 17:44

Thanks for clearing that up MNHQ. So absolutely no invited favourites whatsoever then? That's good.

Pizza Express.

That put paid to Mugglewump's idea of a posh party with horses duvers then.

No, you would not get in Muggle, not with your taste in music.

Guttersnipe · 14/02/2010 17:45

Oh and could you put bibbity out of her misery and tell us what number we are up to.

muggglewump · 14/02/2010 17:47

Discriminating against me us thick types who don't know what a Haiku is though don't you think?

Could they not have used something else, like who has the best most interesting bag?

Ok, ok, I'm going now, have dinner to make.....

bibbitybobbityhat · 14/02/2010 17:48

Yes please .

I don't know where I've got this number into my head but I thought 50 Mumsnetters had been invited, with a further 10 (plus partners) to be invited as the Haiku competition prize.

Prob. wrong about that too!

oooh bumperlicious

wouldn't the most regular posters do?
I am pretty sure there is a list somewhere...

bibbitybobbityhat · 14/02/2010 18:04

rofl at Riven!

bibbitybobbityhat · 14/02/2010 18:04

It would be like a sale at Ikea .

pagwatch · 14/02/2010 18:07

I think it should be multiple competition entries.
Fastest nappy change
Most disapproving look at a fruit shoot
snazziest Boden outfit
Best use of the word twat ( pag hoping to compete here)
Most heroic adherence to rules of AIBU in face of very unreasonable poster

other categories tba

Guttersnipe · 14/02/2010 18:10

I think it should be "best mother". I would win that easily. Off to see if any of my children are still alive after several hours of neglect. Oh and anyone got any ideas what meal I could make out of a mouldy bit of cheese and a box of gone soggy cheerios?

OP posts:
Guttersnipe · 14/02/2010 18:11

gone off obviously. You can see why the haiku comp was of no interest to me.

Best defence of Greggs sausage rolls ( I mean as a concept, not literally fighting to hold on to one)

Best use of

Bumperlicious · 14/02/2010 18:31

What's all the fuss about haikus, just look it up - 5, 7, 5 syllables, easy as.

Oh, while I think of it Lenin, can we add the use of 'simples' to your list, it's really getting on my tits.

bibbitybobbityhat · 14/02/2010 18:31

I think its best to keep it simple. So the most prettiest.

muggglewump · 14/02/2010 18:56

Yeah you wish Bibbity.

I present you, Mugggle.

NFI · 14/02/2010 19:08

So it's going to be the contributor-types - MP, Aitch, who else? Carmenere for the recipes? Boco for the Christmas cards? doesn't someone do a book-club thing?

And then the ten best haiku winners.

Will that be it? It's not going to be a very large party is it. I bet the "popular" MNers will be there too, I'll be interested to hear back from attendees, won't you?

Not me clearly

I did say to MN that I would come over to lend some continental sophistication to the party, even offered to bring Bonsoir. Then they said that it was to be held in Pizza Express.

Mon Dieu!

Anna and I decided that we could not possibly lower ourselves to that level.

Here in Geneva (and Paris) we would expect a Michelin starred venue. At least 2 stars.
