it IS the 1st after all

OP posts:

I'm just trying to maintain standards.

Think M&S tasteful christmas approach (no models in underwear mind) rather than Iceland-prawn-party-ring-gurning-Jason-Donovan-lean-in-and-have-another-slice-of-blackforest-gateaux overindulgence.

santaschristmascakeywakey · 01/12/2009 19:31

MNHQ, can we have a bah humbug smiley too please?

dixiecringles · 01/12/2009 19:33

so we're talking Waitrose as opposed to Lidl's Christmas standard here then

there has to be a quote of the week in there somewhere

Slubberdegullion · 01/12/2009 19:33

I tell you the Iceland Prawn Party ring IS the perfect metaphor of choice emoticon for this place sometimes.

[feisty]

RustyBear · 01/12/2009 19:36

On the other thread about this, HelenMumsnet says 'in a couple of weeks', so maybe Slubber has more influence than you think....

dixiecringles · 01/12/2009 19:37

you'll be waltzing through the baby names board calling everyone's choices chavvy next

wash your mouth out, this isn't babycentre a ticker filled forum you know

dixiecringles · 01/12/2009 19:38

was there another thread sorry!

Slubberdegullion · 01/12/2009 19:51

dixie - I have baby names hidden for that very reason

rusty I knew it!!! me and the mnhq have an unspoken telepathic standards link. I've know this for quite some time [utterly deluded yet happy]

Slubberdegullion · 01/12/2009 19:52

OF COURSE I mean the mnhq persons and I

good grief

dizzycringles · 01/12/2009 19:57

tee hee hee - off to pedants corner with you, don't pass Iceland and don't collect a prawn party ring as you go

santaschristmascakeywakey · 01/12/2009 19:59

Would you like a bit of cheese and pineapple on a stick for the journey?

Slubberdegullion · 01/12/2009 21:31

cheeky cows

  • om nom
HelenMumsnet · 01/12/2009 22:30

Steady on, steady on, folks!

We'll be unwrapping the Christmas emoticons in a couple of weeks' time.

They're going to be around right up till 12th Night (Jan 6th), so we don't want to let them out too early - nothing worse than premature emoticonation, you know...

santaschristmascakeywakey · 01/12/2009 22:31

Hello Helen, will we have a bah humbug emoticon? Very useful

dearfuckingprudence · 01/12/2009 22:33

The bah humbug smiley could be a stripy sheep.

dizzycringles · 01/12/2009 22:35

Helen - will our Christmas present finally be a webchat with Graham Norton [still hopeful emoticon]

dizzycringles · 02/12/2009 18:58

one less day to wait but still a couple of weeks [sigh]

santaschristmascakeywakey · 03/12/2009 14:58

I suppose it's a delayed gratification thing - we'll appreciate them more when they arrive. Like RL Christmas pesents I suppose

dizzycringles · 03/12/2009 15:08
MistletoeMonster · 03/12/2009 20:30

C'mon, it's Advent, surely we can have the Christmas smilies now.....

dizzycringles · 03/12/2009 21:10

well done Mistletoe - welcome to the cause

santaschristmascakeywakey · 04/12/2009 13:19

Hello MisletoeMonster , what smilies would you like to see for Christmas?

I had a cow in my advent calendar this morning. I am confused. Although this is nothing unusual.

MNHQ - please do not include a cow in the Christmas smilies. But pleeeease do work on the bah humbug one

dizzycringles · 04/12/2009 13:22

cakeywakey I think they're ignoring us now [meep]

santaschristmascakeywakey · 04/12/2009 13:36

I prefer to think that they are pretending to ignore us - a bit like parents do when their kids start making lists from the Argos catalogue - to make the unveiling of the spangly seasonal smilies more fun when it happens. Or something along those lines anyway.

MistletoeMonster · 04/12/2009 13:40

Wondering if we could have a Christmas Pudding icon to signify [gluttony] too please? I would think a [greedy emoticon] would be extreeeeeeemly useful, non?
