yes

we should get them on Christmas Eve, along with the tree and yule log (proper yule log, not chocolate swiss roll).

Please can we have them now? I love all things Christmassy!

dizzydixies · 01/12/2009 18:17

ah NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO slubber - tis like my advent calendar which apparently, according to DC, I'm not allowed as I'm a grown up [sigh]

RUBBISH.

If we have to have anything it should be an advent smilie. A red candle maybe. Dunno what a red candle would signify but it would be appropriate for the period.

Slipery Slope! Slipery Slope!

Mark my words, a few more years of this and ther'll be requests for cadbury's creme egg emoticons on BOXING DAY.

restraint ladies. restraint.

Slubberdegullion · 01/12/2009 18:20

Or we could have an advent calendar emoticon. And not a chocolate advent calendar either. One with glitter on, and push out feet at the bottom.

dizzydixies · 01/12/2009 18:20

ooohhhh cream egg, yum

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 01/12/2009 18:27

steady now.

Remember the Everest Spirit.

heartofgold · 01/12/2009 18:32

will the christmas version of the biscuit be a mince pie?

cakeywakey · 01/12/2009 18:35

And can we have some 'fairy on the top of the tree' smileys as well as santa hats?

dizzydixies · 01/12/2009 18:35

or a wee christmas pudding?

wonder if bigtech will get all fancy with the christmas ones or stick the santa hats on them as usual

should we request some mistletoe for the sake of peace and goodwill all round (esp on the AIBU boards?!?)

OP posts:
cakeywakey · 01/12/2009 18:35

Ooooh, or reindeer antlers! Am getting unnecessarily excited!

dizzydixies · 01/12/2009 18:40

careful now cakeywakey - we have to go easy or we might ruin any hope of Slubber's christmas spirit at all

maybe I should sort out my Christmas MN name instead?

OP posts:
differentID · 01/12/2009 18:42

BigTech, I know it's too late for this year, but can you do us a Mumsnet online advent calender for next year? Please?

Oh yes, and can we have our smilies now please?

cakeywakey · 01/12/2009 18:44

You're quite right dizzydixies, must calm down. Slow and steady and all that.

dizzydixies · 01/12/2009 18:45

great idea dID - never too soon to plan ahead

maybe they could have a prize in every date to be opened by one MNer (after entering a draw/ doing a survey blah blah blah)

OP posts:
dixiecringles · 01/12/2009 18:47

what do you think? Christmassy enough?

2shoes · 01/12/2009 18:48

never too early for smilies

nymphadora · 01/12/2009 18:52

Ooh I like the MN advent calender idea....

santaschristmascakeywakey · 01/12/2009 19:01

Nice Dixie, how does mine look? The techy stuff wouldn't let me add an aspostrophe to 'santa's'. Should I do to pedant's corner and explain myself now do you think?

santaschristmascakeywakey · 01/12/2009 19:01

Go, I meant go.

Slubberdegullion · 01/12/2009 19:06

All this premature festivity is most unseemly.

I'm saving my joy up I'll have you know.

santaschristmascakeywakey · 01/12/2009 19:10

It's not premature Slubber. It's Advent, yay! If we had a mince pie smiley I'd offer you one, in an overly festive way

Slubberdegullion · 01/12/2009 19:25

yes exactly advent is advent and be-hatted FC smilies are for later . 23 more days of santa'd smilies will give me a tic.

I am willing to compromise (yeah cos I am SO in charge - in my dreamy dreams) and say that maybe weekend after next we can have them.

Oh and the LAW says you can eat a mince pie from dec 1st. That is allowed as obviously mince pies are wonderful things and cannot be pigeoned holed into time nor space.

wtf am I talking about?

yeah have the smilies, whatever I care not.

dixiecringles · 01/12/2009 19:26

ah bless slubber, I think you do care but are just trying to save face
