what on earth is going on? who exactly is the target audience, do they think we don't know about arsing cbeebies on here?

I just posted a thread about this waving child. In AIBU, but maybe it should have been in something more serious? I go on MN to get away from this sort of attention hogging annoying behaviour. And here it is following me.... The other two children were bad enough with the plastered on smiles but this one takes the biscuit. I have taped a post it to the side of the screen. Think I'll need something less see through.

DidEinsteinsMum · 19/11/2009 20:25

I was just going to create a thread about this and very glad someone has put a far more suitable title. Stop it, stop her now. Its not the fact that it is an add for cbeebies, its the mad waving and moving about. i want to shove a sharpe pencil in her eye til she runs away crying. a little extreme maybe be but it is too painful to watch that ad nastiness!

mathanxiety · 19/11/2009 23:52

Yes and the tilting the head sideways while you're trying to avert your gaze.

UnquietDad · 19/11/2009 23:58

heh-heh, I said on the other thread about this that Mylene Klass made me feel violent towards her and was not roundly castigated as a wife-beater. Imagine that on netmums...

Seriously, this is more than just an irritating advert. This is the M&S of FUCKING IRRITATING ADVERTS.

It is totally doing my head in and making me contemplate abandoning MN as there is just NO getting away from it.

Would it help if I clicked on it? Would that make it go away?

Uriel · 20/11/2009 00:23

I've got a handy seed packet to lean against the screen...

Bleatblurt · 20/11/2009 00:26

And it seems to be on ten times as much as any other ad. Are they giving you such obscene amounts of money that you are happy to annoy large numbers of mumsnetters?

hatwoman · 20/11/2009 00:33

god she's been pissing me off all week. but I didn't dare post because I knew she was someone's dd. so glad I'm not alone. and wny has she got so much eyeshadow on??? tell us that bbc.

giraffesCannaeFlingPieces · 20/11/2009 01:03

What have they done to her forehead? Its shinier than shiney tinsel on a sunny day.

hatwoman · 20/11/2009 10:18

it is rather shiney. I've discovered that if you click on the thing that says what do you want to eat she holds a menu up infront of her face. she does peek round it a bit but is mainly obscured. and not waving.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 20/11/2009 10:25

it's like seeing rita skeeter peeping out from the pages of the daily prophet. i no longer care that she is someone's child, she is now a genuine hate figure for me.

OP posts:
WilfSell · 20/11/2009 10:27

I genuinely think we should make this the First Mumsnet Campaign actually, before the 4 nappies one. Just to galvanise us, like.

Let's all boycott Cbeebies until they take the advert down. Saturday morning?

No. Seriously. I am utterly fucked off with it.

OrmIrian · 20/11/2009 10:28

She is annoying. I think I'd have been tempted to gag her with her own bunches if she was real.

coppertop · 20/11/2009 10:56

I snurk whenever the thread called "Come SHINE with me" appears on Active Conversations next to the girl's head.

TheFoosa · 21/11/2009 22:15

ha ha ha not the only ones who hate it

here

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 21/11/2009 22:24

THeFoosa - that is very funny! BBC did NOT think about its target audience at all correctly, or the longevity of the ad's.

Nancy66 · 22/11/2009 11:59

I want to pull her bunches and push her over in a puddle.

Please please get rid of the annoying brat.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 22/11/2009 13:35

a thousand apols if her mother is an mner but she looks exactly the sort of child that i really loathed at school. all pointy-teethed and enthusiastic.

OP posts:
southeastastra · 22/11/2009 13:38

you're all mad, she's really easy to ignore.

kittywise · 22/11/2009 13:44

How weird I never notice any ads. I simply don't LOOK at them. Just don't look!

catinthehat2 · 22/11/2009 15:13

Gosh they're very no nonsense on BC:

she is still there, and still needs shooting! xx

I think I would fit in

ProfYaffle · 22/11/2009 15:22

To be fair, it's not the girls herself who annoys me, it's the constant, attention grabbing movement making it impossible to concentrate and read anything.

Summersoon · 22/11/2009 20:32

I couldn't agree more. She and also the two previous kids looked absolutely sweet but after a few times, their attention-grabbing antics really got on my nerves! (The fact that I am sure that I have met the mother of the first two somewhere made it even worse - they look the spitting image of someone I know I have met but can't place - aargh!).

Please, please MN - could you scratch these ads - or so you need the revenue that badlz?

ilovemydogandmrobama · 22/11/2009 20:36

Logically, if there is the facility to hide threads, why not advertisements?
