good diversion tactics there justine but whilst you're here where the feck is my Graham Norton

largeginandtonic · 16/11/2009 23:10

No Justine.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 16/11/2009 23:14

Justine!

nannynick · 16/11/2009 23:14

Justine... surely the BBC lot must have some some things they want to tell us about, get our feedback on... not sure what exactly but if they are spending money on ads, then they must have some aim in mind. Maybe they need a micro-site type thing instead, perhaps a discussion thread about their latest programme idea (5yr old I care for seems to love that strange prog with the cartoon characters with real heads... DirtGirlWorld). So instead of doing an annoying animated ad, they pay you for the privilege of being able to ask us for our views and comments on latest programme ideas.
Could that work?

JustineMumsnet · 16/11/2009 23:17

Yep, spot on NannyNick. We'll feed that back for sure.

dizzydixies · 16/11/2009 23:24

NannyNick - you're a higher callibre of complainer here! we just want sodding shot of them

well done you!!!

nannynick · 16/11/2009 23:24

I've interacted with the advert... I know, bad thing to do! It seems to be going through to I Can Cook a Honey Tea Loaf on iPlayer. Would have thought it more logical to link to the I Can Cook mini-site... ideally to the recipe's area, so we could (if we felt so inclined) print off the recipes and give them a try.
I do wonder what they are trying to achieve from the ad... more people to use iPlayer?

nannynick · 16/11/2009 23:28

Well we don't want to put advertisers completely off paying MNHQ money, else we may lose mumsnet
So hope you don't mind me suggesting things that may, or may not work... in place of the silly animated ads, which clearly aren't working so aren't really any good for the advertiser, or MNHQ.

Don't think I've been called higher callibre before - Maybe I'm too experienced at moaning to organisations!

MistletoeNoelPresents · 16/11/2009 23:30

It would be bearable if the little blighters didn't move about so much!

dizzydixies · 16/11/2009 23:30

carry on you're doing a great job

Deadworm · 17/11/2009 08:47

Has she been censored? I'm just getting a calm green square now, with an invitation to click a link to recipes.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 17/11/2009 12:13

she's back.

MN PLEEEEEEEEEEASE tell Cbeebies they have got it SO EFFING WRONG with this advert.

I HAVE annoying children who badger me for my attention all the fecking time (mostly because they want to watch cbeebies, how's that for irony?)

I do not need cbeebies to provide me with a virtual gurning, grinning, waving, hopping, infuriating child as well.

I am starting to hate the BBC and I never thought that was possible. Please tell them that this advert is NO WAY to win customers, in fact they are really and truly pissing me off here, I am considering a milkshake takeover just to register a protest.

theyoungvisiter · 17/11/2009 13:08

You know what would be great? If they want to get attention to I Can Cook - how about a little square with this week's recipe and a link to the site?

I was really impressed with the cheese and tomato swirls she did yesterday and made them with DS.

If I saw an enticing-sounding recipe printed on the ad it WOULD make me more likely to watch (and I could make sure I had the ingredients in stock before the programme).

But a smirking tweenie is just begging me to ban telly for a month.

whomovedmychocolate · 17/11/2009 13:09

Nothing is bad enough to make me want to watch Milkshake

theyoungvisiter · 17/11/2009 13:18

stop it WMMC, this thread is supposed to convince the bbc they need to stop, not make them realise what a devoted following they've got

I shall report your post for deletion on the grounds that it's spoiling the campaign.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 17/11/2009 13:21

hahahahaha funny you should say, i let dd watch milkshake this morning. i wonder if it was an unconscious protest?

OP posts:
whomovedmychocolate · 17/11/2009 13:28

Actually I think BBC is going to become patron saint of mumsnet soon.

Then you'll be sorry muwhwhwhhahahahhahah!

Milkshake is just telly for kids who need to know what to nag for at Christmas isn't it? And a pig. I don't know why a pig, but I believe there is a certain porcine quality to it.

nickelbabe · 17/11/2009 13:31

i think MNHQ should request that advertisers should sned in adverts that do not move!
it drives me nutty!

whomovedmychocolate · 17/11/2009 13:41

I don't give a monkeys as long as they load after the main content

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 17/11/2009 22:22

I swear, it's getting worse.

She's following me around she's now appearing on other sites

catinthehat2 · 19/11/2009 17:35

The gurning girl with the stage school side bunches has appeared on my screen.

I am losing my thin veneer of geniality.

Please make it stop, or I am going to have to leave.

coppertop · 19/11/2009 17:38

It's horrible.

If anything it's put me off switching CBeebies on.
