Hidden space - a hole in the MN time/space continuum?

BecauseImWorthIt · 05/11/2009 21:50

I have noticed that in long
posts, suddenly there appears a rogue space.

Is this a secret door into the wonderful world of MNHQ, or something more mundane to do with the arcane world of coding?

Look:

[bis cuit]

[bisc uit]

Hoping it's worked ....

PC wouldn't let me c/p any more!

ABetaDad · 06/11/2009 13:29

Personally I am thinking of going for the 'Blue Pill'.

Deadworm · 06/11/2009 13:35

lol ABD. Perhaps the spaces are entry points for Agents into the Matrix.

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 06/11/2009 13:36

Arf at ABD (did you win the Halloween name comp by the way? I voted for you)

And at 'reverse reverse'. I am over thinking things. Must go back to work.

caramelwaffle · 06/11/2009 13:37

ABetadad - I already took the 'Blue Pill' - and fell in to V Wilfs inverted pyramid ( CW whispers painfully "don't do it")

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 06/11/2009 13:38

Whoah again a minute.

Are we all seeing different things too?

caramelwaffle · 06/11/2009 13:42

I'm seeing biscuits. What are youuuu seeing?

ZephirineDrouhin · 06/11/2009 13:44

lolol at "I feel just like a medieval philosopher trying to divine God's plan in the patterns of the stars"

RustyBear · 06/11/2009 13:44

Have the biscuit's eyes fallen into the black hole?

Deadworm · 06/11/2009 13:46

Tech has blinded the biscuit. The biscuit saw too much. BIWI you are next.

alwayslookingforanswers · 06/11/2009 13:47

"But when Tech/God finally answers I will be like a toddler who has said 'Mum, MUM MUM ,why, WHY WHY...' and then says 'Oh' and buggers off to put lego up his nose the minute you begin your carefully crafted answer."

That has to be quote of the week I've been LOLing about it since I read it this morning - even when I wasn't at the computer.

alwayslookingforanswers · 06/11/2009 13:50

caramel - would you mind putting your 12.36 post into English please

caramelwaffle · 06/11/2009 13:55

Could I not just pass you a instead

I can see patterns. I just cannae' explain them very well cap'n

ABetaDad · 06/11/2009 13:56

Tell you what I have been following this thread obsessively on and off and I don't see the same patterns as some of you. I am not seeing the space every '100 characters' but about every '44 characters' in some of the posts.

Is this something to do with the way our individial browsers on our own PCs are interpreting the HTML code? Is this the reason we are seeing the pattern randomly different on different posts?

Vulpusina - yes I did win and thank you and to everyone else for voting for me. I AM really quite quiet embarassed. Absolutley no credibility left to my manhood.

Your name is really rather good too as I realised when watching the Fantastic Mr Fox last week.

Biobytes · 06/11/2009 14:11

Nooooo, why have they taken the eyes off???????? now it looks like a fluffy daisy and I'm starting to think that tickers are about to appear all around the site!

snigger · 06/11/2009 14:13

Prefer it now - beady eyed glaring biscuits are the stuff of my worst nightmares.

ABetaDad · 06/11/2009 14:30

I like it better without eyes. Its more of a 'Jammy Dodger' now.

Maybe we could have a series of different Biscuit of the Week emoticons. Maybe MNHQ auction off the advertising rights to manufacturers so we could have all sorts of household goods as a guest emoticon each week.

caramelwaffle · 06/11/2009 14:42

Fab idea.

Where is BigTech? He needs to come back to stop us eating all the biscuits give us answers

VinegarTits · 06/11/2009 15:19

I think it maybe something to do with the CRLF (carriage return, line feed) or maybe not

thumbwitch · 06/11/2009 15:26

tis not a new phenomenon though - I have noticed it before when posting really long words like Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhh!! or trying to do 'bunting' on more than one line.

thumbwitch · 06/11/2009 15:28

see?? SEE? it's there, in the middle of the hhs...

caramelwaffle · 06/11/2009 15:45

Yes. We see thumbwitch

Bunting?

stuffitllllama · 06/11/2009 15:51

what the devil is going on here
