Whatever happened to Rachel - one of the original Mumnset 'three'?

Whenever I see stuff about the Mumsnet Founders, Justine and Carrie (as per the feature about the Red Award today...) I always think 'What happened to Rachel?' so I thought I'd ask.....

I'm sure when MN was set up there were three 'founders' weren't there?

So what happened? Do tell....

I'm an Owl, married to a pig. Wink

We are both incredibly curious.

Peppapig · 30/12/2016 23:51

We carry around a magnifying glass everywhere we go - I reckon that puts us slightly above meerkats who keep watch constantly but slightly below raccoons, who are usually found with dusting powder, checking for fingerprints. I've heard that geese leave a hair across every door handle to check if someone has been in their bedroom.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 30/12/2016 23:58

Oh okay - perhaps someone could issue a guide on who can reanimate zombie threads then?

Peppapig · 31/12/2016 00:00

Why does it matter to you? Those of us who remember Rachel are just curious in light of today's news. Carrie has also been written out of MN history too it appears.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 31/12/2016 00:02

Okay well no need to be so aggressive.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 31/12/2016 00:04

Btw I think you had a name change malfunction upthread...

And no, that doesn't matter to me either Grin

firesafety · 31/12/2016 00:05

There's a guide about resurrecting old threads? Really?

And berlimey, I see no aggression. What an odd thing to say!

Peppapig · 31/12/2016 00:16

Agrgressive? You're the one telling people which threads they can post on, like you own the place! It means something to some of the old timers who were around in the dial up days, so I assume that's why this zombie thread came up again.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 31/12/2016 00:25

No you are absolutely right - nothing aggressive about your tone at all Grin

I wasn't telling anyone what threads they can post on and, as for people owning the place, I leave that to the 'old timers from the dial up days'

firesafety · 31/12/2016 00:45

Er, Livia, you "shouted" initially.

Nothing aggressive about that oh no...

therootoftheroot · 02/01/2017 11:38

is there a rule that says you can't post on old threads? really?

Nineloves1 · 02/01/2017 14:03

There is a secret MN book of rules. You have to do the special cyber handshake to access it though.

Nineloves1 · 02/01/2017 14:07

There's a real chance I'll just wander off and forget I've posted that once I've finished BF.

I think an icon pops up saying Zombie thread, do you want to resurrect it. More because people would post suggestions to five of year old problems without realizing, or ask for advice on a thread where the OP was long gone.

As for the owl and the meerkat I need more sleep to figure it out. They lost me at tumble driers.

TimeToChangeFor2017 · 02/01/2017 14:07

Justine says, "Wish you could have all been there."

We could have been there if we were invited!

Owllady · 02/01/2017 14:31

I've never been one to follow rules, I'm far too busy bumbling along with my silly Billy head trying to catch up with my washing

Honeydragon · 02/01/2017 14:38

Whooaaaah.....I wondered why I was havea real deja moment.

Manumission · 02/01/2017 14:48

What's going on? Why are you talking like that owl? Confused
