Getting a strange message sometimes when trying to post

I'm typing the message in the box, then when I click post I get:

Mumsnet Discussions : $topicname : $threadname : New Message

By $user.Nickname $message.DisplayPosted
$message.Message

I hate it! Happens to me every time!!!

blueywhite - I read it as "Getting a strange massage" as well.

Am prepared to believe anything I read (or thnk I have read) on here nowadays.

ARGH! Its still doing it here and not just on threads I've started which is what I first thought.

It hasn't happened to me since. I logged out and back in again. Perhaps MN was so scared I had gone for a moment it decided not to mess with me?

Not sure if it's something we can get the Techs onto this weekend but we'll make sure it's looked into ASAP on Monday, if not.

Its been hap[ening to me for months TBH but a quick refresh and it goes away, doesn't bother me that much.

I have this problem too - but I know what's causing it! At least I think I do. When you attempt to post a message is sent to the server to confirm your username and password. For some reason, this sometimes fails (probably too many users posting at the same time or something like that) so you find you get this. If you click your BACK button you will find your message waiting to be posted and if you try again, nine times out of ten it works.

I've never had this before, but now it happens all the time

previewing then posting does seem to help

But the posting problem is really bad

Seeing if this works? Haven't been able to post on my Post-natal since Friday. Get that message EVERY time, tried refreshing, turning on/off, retrying etc...

I get this all the time, have done for months. I just click back and try again which usually works.

It's been happening to me for the last few days, and has just happened again.

Just tried to add a message to another thread and it failed 5 times in a row. Finally, I previewed it first, and then posted it and it went through ok.

i'm getting this as well for every post but only when i try and post from my blackberry (works fine from laptop)

my solution when i'm on blackberry is..

write message
copy it onto clipboard
click post
get strange message as above
paste my original message
click post

and hey presto, it works. its a bit annoying though, especially when i forget to copy text first!
