Threads that should be banned. What's the point in them apart from annoying others? What purpose do they serve? Ban them!!

"I read this in the Daily Mail"

Threads relating to people on benefits/"poor people"

Racist threads

Sexist threads

Threads relating to others size/height

More bloody dolphin name threads.

Is it possible?? They do nothing but irritate people. Some clarity and set rules on here would be helpful, everyone is entitled to start threads but when they are started purly to annoy/upset then this is wrong.

Thanks.

if you go down this route you'd have to include private vs state, wouldn't you

Slubberdegullion · 05/08/2009 13:20

You know what the crux of this thread is all about.

It's not about banning threads, oh no, it's about the DISTINCT LACK of a Fruit Puddings Topic.

fgs there are chickens and horses and baby ling swap topics but fruit puddings are just all lumped into food or recipes.
It's not right. Not right at all.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 05/08/2009 13:20

hell yes!

The only thing I want to hide are those incredibly irritating ante-natal things called stuff like 'The one where our snuffly wuffly hunks of love blink!!!!!! [October 1993]'.

I accept that some people enjoy them however and more to the point, have no idea how to hide them,

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 05/08/2009 13:25

Goodness, you know there are 19 dolphin threads??

Poor MNtowers. You'll have a whale of a time reading all of the posts!

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 05/08/2009 13:26

That was a thread title? Seriously!

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 05/08/2009 13:29

moony, you HAVE to hide ante natal and post natal threads, all of them. BEGONE FOUL NATAL THREADS.

Just go to customise next to topics up there ^^.

I highlighted ALL the topics and moved them to hidden and then went through them all cherry picking the ones that didn't give me a bit of a tic. Oh it was so cleansing and cathartic.

Slubberdegullion · 05/08/2009 13:31

For ages I only had camping unhidden as everything else made me want to set fire to things.

I wonder who will be picking the winner. Presumably the person who thought up the competition.

Lots of extremely fluffy (no pun intended, OP) names on there. Names like Sparkle and Luna with a high reliance on Greek mythology and apostrophes.

We should campaign for a fruit pudding topic. Should that include custard or do we need a Custard, Ice cream and Choc sauce topic too?

Slubberdegullion · 05/08/2009 13:35

I think a Toppings Topic should cover that one Mme.

boom boom

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 05/08/2009 13:35

pudding!!! Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmm!!

drool!!

Can I put in a bid for 'am I pregnant' threads? There should be a pop up which says 'have you done a test? If not, please go and do one before posting asinine comments on bloating, weird cramps etc.'

I quite like the DM threads though, they give me a chance to appear intelligent

Slubberdegullion · 05/08/2009 13:38

Is that a pudding Fluffy, or is it a cake? imvvvho that is a cake and not a pudding and therefore shouls be discussed in the Food: Cake: Decorated Cakes: Chocolate sub-sub-sub Topic.

MmeLindt · 05/08/2009 13:43

WMMC
Yes, pop up with the instructions not to post a Am I Pregnant thread before DAY 18

That is a disgusting looking cake, Fluffy.

ScaredOfCows · 05/08/2009 13:44

And hide all the bl**dy pushchair threads too!!

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 05/08/2009 13:45

Cake can be classed as pudding. Ds classes chocolate as pudding, we have regular arguments discussions about this.

I'm drooling!!

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 05/08/2009 13:46

Pushchair threads!! ARGHHHHHH!!!

There were some pony threads aswell IIRC. Ban those aswell.

rofl at the irony that we are debating cakes now after lulumama dissing cupcake threads in her first post.

It was her that started with the apple crumble taunts so it's nowt to do with me.

ilovemydogandmrobama · 05/08/2009 13:48

"My child has a Temperature of 104 and has gone limp and What shall I do?"

It amazes me that it goes through some people's minds, 'think I'll go online...'

StealthPolarBear · 05/08/2009 13:49

I love the am I pregnant threads!

MmeLindt · 05/08/2009 13:53

I love a good Am I Pregnant thread but not the ones that go

"My DH and I BD on day 12, 13, 14, 15. I have had mucousy discharge since and heavy breasts. Also my nose has been itching. And I have had a strange taste in my mouth. It is now Day 16. Am I too early to test?"

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 05/08/2009 13:54

I find it really difficult to come out with sensible answers most of the time. The temptation to write 'don't be so bloody stupid' is a strong one but go to the dark side I must not. Darn!

I love and hate baby name threads in equal measure.

"Baby is 6 weeks old but we still can't decide between Jimmy and Aristotle, what does MN think?"

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 05/08/2009 13:59

Do these shoes match this dress?

WHO GIVES A SHITE??

This thread is turning into the 'things you'd love to say on a thread but don't' thread I stared last week
