Hello and welcome

I've got my dongle working! Woohoo!

Today is a briefing day organised by the G20 Voice peeps.

Am networking like a wild thing. Oh look, there's Michelle O. 'Scuse me.

Thank you spider, very concise.

Lenin, re. the equality stuff - was that the book published by the Nottigham/York accademics? Sounds very interesting.

Will start new thread tomorrow. Please continue to objectify me as I'm rather enjoying it, but if you could all refrain from calling my fellow bloggers 'rough as badgers' that would significantly improve my networking chances.

I told Tax Man that he went down very well on mumsnet, and he got all flustered.

Told a couple of other people about 850,000 users and they were aghast.

Oooh, have been interviewed by American radio - the public broadcasting one - Voice of America, that's it.

PW very best of luck for tomorrow and I hope you get a good night's sleep.

policywonk · 01/04/2009 23:11

You can all go to bed if you want to. I've only paid £15 for this connection.

Ought to do summat on the blog I suppose.

Feel suitably chastised.

Must concentrate on issues not hairdos

I've really enjoyed reading this thread today, albeit only discovered it tonight. I'm looking forward to reading more tomorrow whilst I am suffering enjoying a visit to Legoland.

I always think it is the sign of a good hotel guest to empty the minibar

allthoseeggsaremine · 01/04/2009 23:52

Best of luck PW!

iSOLOvechocolate · 02/04/2009 00:07

Good luck, I hope you are asleep PW, you'll need your sleep tonight.

vacaloca · 02/04/2009 09:34

Are you here? twitpic.com/2pmsm

And you've just been mentioned here twitter.com/G20Voice

policywonk · 02/04/2009 09:51

Thanks! Yes, that's where we are, but that particular table isn't us.

MollieO · 02/04/2009 09:54

Are you going to do a new thread for today PW?

ingles2 · 02/04/2009 09:57

Morning. Good Luck today PW

policywonk · 02/04/2009 09:57

Hi Mollie - new thread here. I've just asked MN to sticky it and de-sticky this one

OP posts:
MollieO · 02/04/2009 10:00

Thank you. Purely selfish request as reading long threads on my Iphone doesn't work whilst trying not to lose over excited 4 yr old at Legoland.

ruty · 02/04/2009 10:03

Good morning. Couldn't get to the thread last night as doing my best to fulfil qualities of the MN demographic - baby screaming and throwing up on me, her falling asleep exhausted at one, then having an argument with ds about money in hissed whispers. Hope I done good.

Onebat, i so agree with you about the church thing. My grandfather actually got sacked from the church for a period of time being too political [got his nose broken by the police in a demo during the General Strike yes he was ancient, invited the Dockers' Union to meet in the vicarage, etc] But there are a hell of a lot of dedicated individuals, hell, quite a lot of them are even Catholic, who do a lot of ameliorating at grass roots level, and who practise the equality thing but as for actually changing society, well, I think that is because power ultimately corrupts and powerful institutions are incapable of driving real change for good, they get weighed down with bureaucracy and petty arguments. I'm hoping Obama doesn't disappoint in the way Blair does. I remember having so much excitement when Blair was elected.

ruty · 02/04/2009 10:04

Oooh policywonk you do look good on your photo. Enjoying your blog.

ruty · 02/04/2009 10:15

some bloke has died during the riots, well collapsed and died.

Threadworm · 02/04/2009 10:34

Religious thinkers, just as such, are no more obliged to defend any religious organisation than gardeners are obliged to defend the Royal Horticultural Society. Organised religion is wholly compromised -- less so as and where it becomes properly separated from political and economic power. But that has only a small implication for religion as such, yes?
