There never seem to be any unanswered threads to answer any more - is this a feature of the new MN?

I occasionally (once or twice a week) pop into unanswered threads to see if I can help.

I never bump them but try to help when I can but they seem to have disappeared - where have they gone?

SlightlyMadScotland · 02/02/2009 21:22

this one

southeastastra · 02/02/2009 21:23

lol i was going to comment on it, thought it was sweet and they do look squashed .

sometimes i like to bump my own threads off or at certain times.

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 21:27

Hello

I both bump and answer where I can. I wasn't around this weekend as I was ill so can't speak for any low numbers over that period. They only stay on there for 24 hours and more often than not when they are bumped they get an answer.

Lots of people seemed to like it but if it's causing a problem i'll stop. I certainly don't intend to upset anyone. I was just trying to be helpful.

KatyMac · 02/02/2009 21:36

Maybe we should add
"Please bump"
or
"I'll Bump my own thanks"

at the bottom?

I think I should stop posting tonight - great as it is for displacement - I think I have been a cow on one or two (or 7) threads

Sorry

I guess so long as puzzlerocks keeps them bumped within the 24 hours, or only bumps towards the end of the 24 hours then there isn't really a problem. Or Katymacs suggestion.

I guess we can never really guarantee an answer to everyone's question.

ChasingSquirrels · 02/02/2009 21:40

PR - I know you aren't doing it to offend, and from the other threads alot of people appreciate it. And I'm not mentioning my POV to piss you off, just how I feel.

Am lol at putting a bump disclaimer on every thread. How neurotic would that look!

KatyMac · 02/02/2009 21:42

Well it would be an acronym within hours - it just needs to spell something polite

OP posts:
southeastastra · 02/02/2009 21:43

rofl

no hard feelings puzzle

KatyMac · 02/02/2009 21:46

please allow me the pleasure of bumping myself - thanks
PAMTPOBMT

I don't think that work
BMT
Bump Myself Thanks........Not ideal

Anyone a better idea?

OP posts:
southeastastra · 02/02/2009 21:52

i do tend to bump mine within ten minutes though so they disappear, or i get the urge to bump it later. it's a weird business bumping

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 21:55

But what if someone has a question about m/c or conception problems? It seems a bit harsh to leave it sitting there for 24 hours.

southeastastra · 02/02/2009 21:58

no i agree puzzle, some threads do need alot of bumping

Stretch · 02/02/2009 21:58

I would hate to have a serious/important question that was sat there for ages. I assume puzzlerocks reads them before she bumps, and if can help, will do! So I for one am happy for her to bump threads.

KatyMac · 02/02/2009 21:59

But how many threads disappear after a bump, never to be answered?

I don't know - should each section have someone(s) who answer - with info

It's too late to come up with a solution - we almost need a one answer only section

Or could we have a thread closed bit - sort of You ask what time hustle is on, you get told, you close the thread

OP posts:
southeastastra · 02/02/2009 22:00

maybe you could close a thread in certain sections. relationship type things

KatyMac · 02/02/2009 22:02

Or even you say thank you & then you close the thread

OP posts:
ChasingSquirrels · 02/02/2009 22:04

lol

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 22:04

Katy - I would hazerd less than would disappear out of unanswered after 24 hours never to be answered. I check back on everything I bump and it's not often that they don't get an answer.

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 22:06

Even hazard

southeastastra · 02/02/2009 22:18

i think we're just saying we like to check unanswered too

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 22:32

Sure SES, I appreciate that. And of course no hard feelings, you's great!

I have felt a bit got at though on occasions and I don't want to to feel shit for something that had good intentions so i'll back off.

And yes I am very bored of being pregnant already with 11 weeks still to go. God I could murder a G&T.

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 22:38

Oh FGS I meant SEA obviously.
