We the undersigned, undervalued, neglected, disenfranchised are humbly asking that as you have overseas advertisers that you begin some comps for us far flung devotees to MN.

Carrie - I tried to be a tsarina but I just could not get my page to get set up and work. No idea why not.

Don't know if I have anyone who can do that for me in teh UK

If you can just put a thing about companies that may ship overseas in comps with vouchers that would be fine. I could try and enter then.

Excuuuuse me, MN headquarters, but when the whole Tsarina thing started, I KNOW that Cali and I, and maybe the Bunny offered to be one for our area and were nicely but flatly REE-JECTED. Now you want us as Tsarinas????????? Hmmmmmmm.

I have to put up with some stupid ad for Rich Dad Seminars all the time on my end. And, most importantly, until recently have had to deal with the MN servers being down in PRIME MUMSNETTING TIME for me. We deserve something for putting up with these travesties. Don't MAKE me make a toothless and idle threat to flounce myself to some US based parenting site where I can sit around and be prissy and discuss the virtues of Sarah Palin and bad chocolate all day long.

The time difference is such that as I type Suzy (Perth) is still in bed and other MNers are on school runs here in aus (My DS goes early on a Tuesday), but we can all get together soon to discuss.

Re, Tsarinas - remind me what a tsarina is exactly. How does one become a tsarina? Is is it like committing to a committee or something , cos I can't do that - I am allergic to committees .
I CAN however, arrange meet-ups and have arranged a few in Melbourne already ... I like doing that because I like vodka you see.

OH MY GOODNESS - It has just clicked in my mush of brain cells mummy head why the foocs have never been acknowledged by MNHQ!!! Here is my theory - Why have these amazingly human posts about life in China during the baby milk crisis, ex-Yugoslavian Mothers living next-door to people who killed their families and African PTA revolt - completely overwhelming stories explaining what it is like to be alive in this world and therefore surely of interest to the people who make life happen in this world - parents and therefore MNers?

However, I feel after reading this thread it is to do with this balance between ?head? and ?heart?. Giving the foocs a little push perhaps would not be good commercially. For example a cute joke about a johnson and johnson product is going to get you more nods from big money companies than someone panicking about getting safe milk for her baby.

Ok? Fine? we all have to make our crust! I just feel a bit daft for waving the foocs flag all over mn thinking somehow if everyone liked us we would get a deserved quote of the week, a spot on the weekly letters or mentioned in the talk roundup!!! At the end of the day our foocs thread is probably a bit like the ones where everyone starts swearing ? one MNHQ would rather forget about!!!

This has been an education for me ? I shall from now on quietly get on with foocing and try not to embarrass MNHQ by mentioning it too much on other threads - like this one... whoops!!!! Ha ha ha - ok that resolution starts from after I post send!!!

Can I just add (having been unplugged by DD) that the dominant Australian parenting site is full of babydancers giving each other approval to call their offspring Jai-Kai-Shanewarne Lastname, so the field is wide open for a site for those of us who like our language salty, our debates robust and our baby names sensible.

I don't agree teafortwo.
Firstly MNHQ does not "acknowledge" one particular thread any more than others, why should they (unless it has been reported)?

Those interested in the fooc thread can read it, or not, as they like.

You'll find plenty of posts on here criticising multinationals such as J&J or Nestle.
