Question for Mumsnet Towers and Mnsnetters about a possible sport and exercise topic?

Countingthegreyhairs · 16/10/2008 10:24

It might just be me (in which case please ignore this request Mumsnet Towers) but I was wondering if anyone else would be interested in a sports and exercise topic under the "Health" heading or elsewhere on the site? And if so, if it would please be possible?

Currently, sport threads (a recent example would be the Olympics) either get posted under "other subjects" or "telly addicts" or exercise threads are posted under "weight loss club" or "general health".

There are lots of questions about power walking/running/pilates/yoga/horse-riding out there - to take just a few examples. Just thought it might be good if there was a specific place to accommodate them.

What does everyone else think?

we've clocked your post Countingthegreyhairs, waiting to see other people's thoughts

Countingthegreyhairs · 16/10/2008 15:41

Thanks Geraldine, much appreciated ...

Trouble is, I think you may be the only one !!!

Surely in this day and age, sport is not only the preserve of blokes??

Anyone?

Bumping forlornly

Sorry, I'm strictly a WII fit person - I don't get to go outside the house and run round all day so I wouldn't post on it.

Although we could get all competitive on SuperHula - there's quite a few of us Mumsnetters doing it!

Countingthegreyhairs · 16/10/2008 18:20

oh dear, well I guess Mumsnet Towers has it's answer ...

resounding silence, tumbleweed emoticon

or could it be that all the interested parties are out playing women's rugby or pounding the streets or ... or ...are at their Ashtanga yoga class ......????

getting desperate now ......

I'd like one! If only to find that elusive no pain - all gain solution!

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 16/10/2008 20:23

No - I think it sounds good.

cheeseytoastie · 16/10/2008 21:06

Yes please

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 17/10/2008 10:20

We had a sport topic before didn't we? That's where the Runner's thread used to be but it was ditched and we transferred back to Health.

EffiePerine · 17/10/2008 10:23

sport and exercise a good idea

esp for those who like to exercise cos they enjoy it, rather than to lose X pounds

Countingthegreyhairs · 17/10/2008 10:29

Oh didn't realise that Saggar'sb ... why was it ditched?

Thanks for yet more positive votes everyone!

Keep 'em coming ....

OP posts:
Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 17/10/2008 16:57

I'm not sure.....I think it was because they wanted to expand some other topics and it wasn't used much TBH. Maybe it would be now

Countingthegreyhairs · 17/10/2008 16:58

oh and not forgetting SuperHula's (that's especially for Twentynine)

OP posts:
OrmIrian · 17/10/2008 17:00

Agree! I'd use that.

Countingthegreyhairs · 17/10/2008 19:44

Could we make it exercise and sport as there may be more people posting about exercise than sport?

I have had some helpful advice on here about exercise but it was difficult to know where to post questions.
