Yes Comrade Wong. Of course Comrade Wong. I just forgot myself for a moment. Won't happen again Comrade Wong.

BTW It was Emily (?) Dickinson who jumped in front of the King's racehorse.

SuperBunny · 17/10/2008 03:40

It was Emily Davison. Emily Dickenson was the poet.

arfishy · 17/10/2008 03:42

Hmm. I'm seeing Vosene kids (is that available here?), Mini Boden and Centerparcs.

Anyhoo, yes to comps. Although I enter them anyway and would donate my prize to locals if necessary.

I don't want a roof though. I want a Fortnums hamper for Christmas and some M&S knickers.

As an aside, did any of you lot get an exclusive invitation to tonights chat with Dr Tanya, or is it just me?

SuperBunny · 17/10/2008 03:44

I'll settle for M&S undies too

I didn't get one, arfishy - why are you so special?

ClaudiaSchiffer · 17/10/2008 03:53

oo m & s undies or anything sounds great. Also Fortnums hamper as long as they leave out the Gentlemans Relish. .

COMPS COMPS COMPS

I didn't get an invite either SuperBunny. Arfish is obv one of the chosen ones.

I am SO chosen .

I might have to start a smug thread.

I think the overseas fortnums hampers don't have booze in though. I still fancy the wicker basket to ponce about with on picnics though. I could bray 'ooh yeas, we always used fortnums for our picnics by the Thames' and wave my champagne glass about theatrically.

ghosty · 17/10/2008 04:38

I stand corrected by Superbunny

SuperBunny · 17/10/2008 04:42

Sorry, ghosty. I never know anything. I think I spelled Dickinson wrong though, if that makes you feel any better.

ghosty · 17/10/2008 04:54

And. No. Have. Not. Been. Invited. To. Any. EXCLUSIVE. Chat. With. Dr Anybody.

what's so special about Arfishy? Her DH screams when he sees spiders ... My DH is all manly and brave ...

welliemum · 17/10/2008 04:57

Ooh yes

< chains self to railing >

Am v. tired of being 2nd class citizen on MN

I WANT A PRIZE

ClaudiaSchiffer · 17/10/2008 05:13

ooo let's stage a sit it. I did it once at Uni. Was a reet laff.

Look look, I'm doing it now.

You get the idea tho?

SuperBunny · 17/10/2008 05:21

I'll do a sleep in, since it is bed-time. But I am sleeping in protest, ok?

ClaudiaSchiffer · 17/10/2008 05:24

Obv I meant to say SIT IN.

So much for my revolutionary credentials.

And well done SuperBunny, a sleep-in is fine.

arfishy · 17/10/2008 05:37

You have to ASK what's so special about me?

CorpseBrideOfJohnCusack · 17/10/2008 05:55

clearly WE haven't been invited to the Dr Tanya chat because OUR children are so perfectly well-behaved

COMPS COMPS COMPS COMPS
I am sitting too

ghosty · 17/10/2008 06:08

psst, remind me who Tanya Byron is?

arfishy · 17/10/2008 06:23

Assuming you weren't dissing Dr T out of sheer jealousy at my exclusive role as one of only 20 invitees GLOBALLY to chat with her on my well-informed and likely-to-be-quoted-in-her-next-research views she's the one who does Little House of Tearaways and is the voice of reason unlike some other parenting experts that we may or may not allegedly have come across.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 17/10/2008 06:26

She is lovely, and pretty.

Oh and very bright and insightful too

Praps I'll get an invite now too. Although like Mrs JC's my children are delightful and extraordinarily well behaved.

ninedragons · 17/10/2008 06:29

Yes to comps for us foreigners, please. We are starting to feel as unloved and persecuted as if we were reading the dailymail.co.uk.

One month and three days until I'm back, Ms Arfishy. Hope you're not too busy polishing your Dr T halo to book the stomach pump at Vinnie's Casualty

welliemum · 17/10/2008 06:29

Yes, we have angel children and do not need the likes of Dr Tanya.

Ghosty, Dr T is a parenting guru and the last time she came to chat on MN there was a truly disgusting display of fawning and grovelling from otherwise respectable MN-ers. I wouldn't dream of joining in this one.

Even if I had been invited.

Which I wasn't.

< pouts unattractively >

arfishy · 17/10/2008 06:46

LOL NineDs. Of course I don't drink but I have booked the stomach pump and am taking an alka-seltzer every day in the run up to your arrival just to be on the safe side.

Do you think we should have special overseas comps? There would be highly acceptable odds.

I think we should immediately look for sponsorship from:

David Jones
Roomba importers
Fortnums (overseas hamper division)
BBQ makers (particularly the big ones with rotisseries and woks)
Ella Bache
Domayne (I need some new dining room chairs but don't fancy paying their prices but they might bundle in a Roomba too)
M&S (they owe me for shutting down the Amsterdam store)
And the roof people for SW and Eids.

ghosty · 17/10/2008 07:24

And what about some holidays here peeps? A week or two in fiji won't go amis or a 4 Wheel Drive holiday on Fraser Island perhaps?

I can honestly say, I have never watched a parenting show on tv. I think I watched on episode of Supernanny to see what the fuss was about and thought bloody hell, my kids are great and I am better
Arfishy's kids must be climbing up the walls for Dr T to be needing HER help

suzywong · 17/10/2008 09:56

SUPER picketting!

Keep it up

Gold Star for welliemum for coining our slogan

WE ARE TIRED OF BEING 2ND CLASS MN CITIZENS

great brand suggestions
but please not nutrimetics as it brings me out in a rash

OP posts:
eidsvold · 17/10/2008 12:50

yes to all arfishy said

Myer
Body Shop
Jane Mercer shoes
Toys R Us or toyworld!!

Holidays...

margaret river
barossa valley

byron bay

whitsunday islands

You get the picture

Gosh - go away for the day and you lot get all radical. I was sitting in - just not sitting in at home!! Well okay I was sitting down at a training day.

Ms Wong - what about clarins or shishedo?? I dimly remember them when I had money to spend on that sort of thing.

Oh we have fabulous spa retreats - another good idea MN.

And no I did not get an invite either and I definitely know I live in a house of tiny tearaways - dd1 sent to time out in the principal's office, dd2 and 3 dancing on the dining room table - terrible parent am I.
