Hmm, the list is quite Antipodean biased. What about us Continental MNetters (oh, that makes us sound like MN-Duvets).

M&S and Fortum hamper can stay, obviously.

Bravissimo, they deliver overseas (and I need new bras)

Years supply of Tetley T-bags would be good

Bisto

Hobnobs obviously

Sunday Times, I only read the online edition now as it is too far to the trainstation but it is not the same

suzywong · 18/10/2008 02:19

MadameT
you can get on a coach in be in London in HOURS!
We are far-flung and disenfranchised, despite giving so much to MN, we are truly Second Class Citizens. Plus many of us have put in years of loyal Anglocentered service to MN and are now cast away and forgotten, excluded and ......... a long long long bloody way off and we need a few scraps to be thrown.

But I do understand your point completely. Good luck with the Continental campaign.

Plus we can get hobnobs and pg pyramid bags over here for $10 a piece.

[daylight robbery]

What I'd love, is a copy of the times, satellite delivered and printed locally. I'd pay $$$. After all, NineDs pays $9 [or something outrageous] for an exported copy of Woman's Day [still in about that]. It's only $7 for the UK OK ffs, and at least it's glossy.

It's tough in Europe. I was devastated when our Euro M&S closed down. It's a so near yet so far thing. You can get the expat baskets shipped, but it's so ridiculously expensive it's not worth it [memories of a £100 mince pie, Oxo and Mint Sauce delivery to Milan spring to mind]

Anyhoo. I'm waiting for my £25 amazon voucher (which will buy most of DDs Christmas books at super cheap UK prices) for being licky to my new best friend Dr T. I was up after midnight, but it's going to expand my media exposure as 'arfishy' to not only the Daily Torygraph, but a highly regarded parenting tome too.

[basks in media exposure and global glory]

OP posts:
eidsvold · 18/10/2008 11:36

I think they are conveniently ignoring us - probably using the time difference as an excuse

[fawns and tugs forelock in arfishy's presence]

ghosty · 18/10/2008 11:43

Do you think we should start some Tactics?
Like going and picketting in random threads. You know, march into a Style and Beauty thread shouting WE WANT COMPS!
Or would that really piss everyone off? Don't want to piss people off [nice MNer]
I am all mouth and no trousers here - I'd have been a crap suffragette in real life ...

superloopy · 18/10/2008 11:57

Just want to add my support to the cause!!

I am in the midst of a furious sit in on my lovely comfy sofa!

'What do we want?'

Competitions we can win!

'When do we want it?'

NOW!!

suzywong · 18/10/2008 16:10

I'm not sure about our nickname acronym. Anyone got any brighter ideas?

OP posts:
arfishy · 18/10/2008 21:17

LOLOL. Not sure the supermarket baggers noticed you Wongster.

I will see if there are any threads MNHQ are on. There was a scary steiner-ite getting a tongue lashing from Justine yesterday IIRC.

eidsvold · 18/10/2008 22:33

Suedonim · 19/10/2008 00:30

dooneygirl · 19/10/2008 01:33

I'm laughing too hard to be of any use, but would like to log my show of support as an as of yet unnamed acronymed overseas disgruntled MN'er. If there are any sit in demonstrations, I'm great at sitting.

suzywong · 19/10/2008 01:45

I'm liking ORIFIcE

oh well, MNHQ can ingnore us some more while I skip off to the river foreshore in 32 degrees

OP posts:
eidsvold · 19/10/2008 09:07

yes - they can continue to ignore us as we relax after a wonderful day at the park and playing out in the garden in wonderful sunny days.
